Installed on a KM130 Stihl with 155 line. Installation was simple and it works great. I have had no problem with it holding string. I also have experience with other Grass Gator products and they have excellent customer support.

Excellent instructions and great metal adaptors
Excellent instructions and great metal adaptors. Removed the Stihl 25-2 autocut head from my Stihl FS110 trimmer and installed the Rebel with ease. I first tried Craftsman XQ Xtra quiet 0.130 inch spiral shaped line. Spit out line no matter what size I made them. Then tried Orgeon Magnum Gatorline 0.095 inch, same results. Then tried Craftsman red 0.105 inch professional line with sharp sides, same result. Sending it back for a refund.

Not what I expected even after research.
This is ok. Its bulky. I didnt use it on my trimmer and its laying in my toolbox. The adapters didn't fit my troy built pony trimmer when its supposed to. Well built but not for me. I actually would like to return or refund it.

Better than some reviews indicated.
I have a Greenworks 10A corded trimmer which has loads of power, so much so, that the stock bump and feed head was just shredding line.when trimming close to bushes and rocks. So I purchased a Grass Gator Heavy Duty Nylon Blade head that I found surprisingly good at light brush cutting, almost as good as a brush cutter head. But we have a lot rocks to trim around and the ends of the nylon blades wore off quite quickly. They even wore off against juniper bush branchesSo "in for a penny, in for a pound" I decided to try the Grass Gator Load n Cut head despite some bad reviews about line not staying in place or being unable to insert new lines when old ones break off at the ferrule.First I have to agree with the experience of some reviewers. The head did lose one of its lines almost immediately, and the other line broke right at the ferrule and was impossible to remove by pushing a new line into place. But being a handy kind of guy, I disassembled the head, which is very easy to do, and found the metal jaws that grip the line, to have quite sharp outer and inner edges left from the manufacturing process. They are supposed to slide in slots moulded into the head but they would hand up in the slots and not hold the line properly. I just scraped off the sharp edges using a small screwdriver, worked the wedges back and forth a few times and re-assemble the head.It works perfectly now. I noticed that dirt can enter the head and may cause the jaws to bind some time in the future but it is easy to open the head to clean it out, should that happen. PLEASE NOTE that although this is an easy task, take care not to lose the little springs that push the jaws into contact with the line. Do the work on a large clean work surface, preferably one with a lip around the edge to catch the spring(s) when they jump out.I found the original line did not stand up very well in our area which has rock walls and other decorative rocks that interfere with trimming. I purchased a spool of LoNoize .130 inch spiral Twist Quiet line. I works superbly in this head.So for now I am very happy with the product(s) I hope I am just as happy in another month or so of use. If not I will post further.

Mounted easily to my John Deer trimmer with the appropriate hardware included. The plastic is a little soft and after one use it is scared up like I have been using it for several seasons. It sliced through my high grass like a chef prepping vegetables on a tv show.

Planned obsolescence, unfortunately until consumers disallow it.
I had the same trimmer head in a 10 year older model that served me well until I wore it out. I had no complaints about the old head. The new head, although it looks pretty much the same, is much lighter than the old head, and the thing that really bugs me about this new head is that the line clamp mechanism appears to be designed to intentionally clog up with dirt. I have to carry a pair of pliers with me to allow the removal of the old line before being able to insert new line. I expect this new head to last maybe 5 years if I,m lucky.

don't waste your time
Installed easily, it comes with everything you need to install it , my only problem with this product is every time I open up the throttle it slings the string out , I am using.155 dia string so there should not be a problem. I would not recommend this product to anyone a complete waste of time.

Does the job
Bought this item (Grass Gator 12100) to replace the recently broken manual feed spool on my antique Shindaiwa T-20. The smaller 8010 seemed a bit lightweight for the serious grass and brush on our property. After an hour or so test drive ... it seems to cut better than the original and doesn't seem to get tough grass wound around/between the spool/shaft as often as the original line spool. (I don't know why this would be true). The device holds two lines (from .095 to .155"), you cut to length and insert and internal steel grippers keep them from slipping back out. This system tackles the heavy stuff. The reason for the 4 star (vs 5) rating: The kit didn't include a bolt to adapt the 12100 to my Shindaiwa. I was pretty flustered over this (a metric, left hand thread bolt isn't easy to come by around here on the weekend) but after digging through my extra stuff I found that the bolt which secures the steel blade to the machine works. In addition, the installation instructions are pretty lame ... and their support line isn't available on the weekend. And because you cut individual pieces of line it seems like you will go through more line over time vs a spool.Overall ... a very good replacement / upgrade item at a good price but don't be surprised if installation is a bit of a hassle. (Since its supposed to fit 99% of all straight shaft trimmers ... perhaps this should be expected)
