I ordered this item because I wanted a simple low cost mount for my phone that didn't obstruct the screen. I had originally bought the NiteIze rubber band mount and soon found that I could not effectively use the screen with the rubber band across the screen. Admittedly, I primarily play Pokemon Go on my bike. The biggest concern you should have about this item is that IF and WHEN your phone gets dislodged from the clamp, it will go flying as fast as you are riding into the asphalt. Over the hundreds of miles of harsh city riding on roads that need repair, this has happened twice. My phone is usually connected to a USB cord for charging, so, once it was saved by the USB connection; the other time, the phone went tumbling but the case saved it from damage. The other uses that I've used this mount for have been to hold my portable powerbank and Motorola Talkabout walkie talkie. To secure the items, I "dummy-corded" the radio and battery to the handlebars so that, if it popped out, it wouldn't be on the ground. This mount is very versatile in that you could put anything that can be clamped between its jaws. I have this thing mounted on my handlebars which are a little small for the clamp--so I cut an inner tube and wrapped it around my handlebars until it was thick enough to be secure and not roll around on its own. I have owned this for almost a half year, and had no issues with durability or quality. Its a very simple design which is the very beauty of it. At $4, Worked so well, that I bought a bunch more for spare and friends. As far as using it for my $500 smart phone, I bought another product for that purpose.

Not a mount made for the road (not that I will ever ride the road with an iPhone attached to my bike:), but for a stationary ZWIFT ride, it's absolutely perfect!!!

Works great for my mountain bike with a LG G3. I do have a shock case for the phone and it easily secures it in place. I do use a 5" lanyard as a backup, but in 6 months, the mount has never failed.

Not sturdy enough

Nifty holder is almost perfect for all my needs. I searched far and wide for something that I could use for frequent business travel. I like to watch shows/movies on my phone on a plane, and also have to drive for long periods in foreign cities where I am completely reliant on my GPS. I was looking for something small that I could throw into my purse without taking up much space, and that I could use on the plane to prop up my screen on the tray table to allow for hands-free viewing, as well as something that could latch onto various rental cars (steering wheel, door handle, air vents etc.) to keep my GPS in clear view. This satisfies every single of my requirements! It's super handy, and the grip is fantastic - easily holds my S6 with case, and it rotates easily while still keeping my phone in position. If I could add just one feature, it would be to enable something like a ball joint rotation. I don't know if I'm using correct technical terms here, but what I mean is if you were to insert a ball into a fitted pocket and have the ability to rotate one end in any direction. This would enable me to adjust the viewing angle with more flexibility. That being said, it's not a major issue as I find that I can make do with the current setup. And for the price, I'm very happy.
