Take out the long stem from the water tank and at the bottom there is a filter. Take the old filter out and replace it with a new one. Very easy and the filters work great. Only replace the filter when the screen on the machine tells you to change it which isn’t very often.

the instructions note you should replace the filter about every month depending on usage. I made a mistake and purchased cheap knock off filters that have about half the filter medium as the original filter so I am changing every two weeks until I get these used up, then will purchase the original Cuisinart filters and go to a once month replacement schedule.
