HomeKit enabled irrigation system for the win!!!
TLDR: Great irrigation controller, works perfectly with Homekit.I live in the Apple ecosystem and until Matter takes over the world and allows everything to integrate, I need to have HomeKit enabled devices. When I needed to make some irrigation system changes, I tossed the old Rain Bird controller and got myself a Yardian.Setup was super easy, the app is intuitive enough to use with an instruction manual or YT video and it works. There isn’t much more to say. The app has a lot of powerful features allowing for multiple programs that are triggered by weather events or other sensors connect to the Yardian.I personally just set up manual programs for my different zones and they work every time without fail.I don’t really have any complaints about this system other than the app interface. I think it could do use a quick start helper program like my Ecobee where is walks you through step by step programming. But I was able to figure it out and I attended public school so most everyone should be able to do it too.

An intelligent sprinkler system that makes me and my plants happy!
The overall package works relatively well and it’s an intelligent sprinkler system that gets water where it needs to be in your landscaping. This 6 x 6-inch flat-white box is beautifully designed, with a slim bar of LEDs indicating zone activity across the middle. The setup is easy. Wiring is simple thanks to spring clips that easily connect to the leads, though some of the interior zone clips can be hard to fully depress without a screwdriver or a sharp fingernail.Yardian also includes a sheet of stickers that let you label your zone wires, which is handy. It’s available in 8- and 12-zone configurations, both of which include two optional sensor inputs for rainfall and water-flow measurement. After hardware installation, you will need to turn to the Yardian app, which requires registration and email confirmation before you can get going. If you’re an iPhone user, the app then directs you to iOS Home and a HomeKit tag scan to complete the registration process. I didn’t encounter any trouble with any of these steps. What I really like is the “smart” scheduling, which takes into account plant and soil types, sun exposure, slope, and other variables to determine the optimal schedule for my yard.Yardian came up with a very sensible schedule for my yard after I took the time to configure the necessary settings. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and I think all my plants feel happy too!

Simple or Complex...Your Choice
I have had my 12-zone Yardian Pro about a month now. Right out of the box it was simple to setup and easy to get started. Now about the programing...you can choose to set it up manually by choosing a duration and start time for each zone, or take some time to input a bunch of data for each zone, like plant type, soil type, slope angle, sun/shade, type of sprinkler heads or drippers, flow rate for heads and drippers, and choose your local NOAA radio weather station. The Yardian will automatically calculate desired soil moisture, monitor local weather conditions and forecasts, including rain amounts, rain chances, humidity, wind, sky cover, etc., and then build a model for the amount of water needed by each zone to optimize soil moisture and water usage. It then determines run times for each zone and builds a "smart" schedule which can be interrupted/delayed by conditions like a recent rainfall threshold, precip probability, or manual hold periods. You can also integrate it with Apple Home Kit to manually start or stop zones using Siri. In a word, "slick." So, whether you prefer simple or complex, this could be the best smart irrigation controller you can buy.UPDATE 10/2023: The Yardian Aeon Matrix smart irrigation controller easily shaved hundreds of dollars off my water bills this past summer while optimizing soil moisture for each zone in my yard. Impressive.

Awesome Homekit Irrigation Controller!
Awesome product. Connected to Apple Homekit without issues and the app works great. Also purchased the matching outdoor enclosure (shown in photo) and mounted it in my garage. Just be sure your Wi-Fi is in range to avoid connection headaches. Nice to see they included an ethernet port on the side. Even got an $80 rebate via the EPA's WaterSense website. 5 stars.

Easy to install and set up.
Easy to install and set up. Worked flawlessly with Apple Homekit. Love the product but the app needs work. The setup assumes you’re a yard nerd. It asks what kind of soil you have, and slope of the zone. It’s awesome that it will look at weather reports and run the sprinkler only when it’s not raining…But, an awesome feature add would be an option that says, “this zone is too wet” or “this zone is too dry” for minor adjustments for those of us who are not soil scientists. You can fake your way through it with the “smart watering adjustment” setting (a sliding scale from 10-160%) but that doesn’t mean a whole lot to a luddite like me. And you have to really dig for that setting. The app could be really simplified to provide a better ui/ux, but overall this is an awesome product that I’m enjoying using.Would still strongly recommend, especially if you’re looking for HomeKit integration.

Very Easy Install and Setup!
I replaced a Toro Evolution controller with this one. I am glad I got the outdoor box cover. This made it even easier to install. Plus it covered the unpainted area and houses the power supply. It doesn’t come with an outdoor stripped cable but one can be fashioned by an old desktop computer power cable or get one from hardware store.I only needed to move the common wire and 6 zone wires. Which were easily labeled with the included stickers (they easily fall off). The wires easily pushed into this new controller.Setting up the app, HomeKit and naming the zones is exactly why I got this. It was very user friendly. I needed to be able to quickly adjust schedules and restrict zones as they get too saturated and set up different schedules for seasonal changes.I didn’t need all the fancy screens or anything on the controller itself, so this was great value.
