AdvancedRotak 36-650

Had to get over the fact that it’s so light and quiet that it feels like a child’s toy (no reassuring big & loud petrol engine) . But have cut the lawn for a while now and love the ease of start, the lightweight design and the quality of the cut. (Far better than a petrol Ryobi it replaced)Only cons are the size of the grass collector and the price of spare batteries (no way one battery can do the size of lawn they suggest).I have a medium size lawn and would go for the next size of mower up than Bosch advise.Overall really pleased though and have already recommended it to someone else who was looking for a new mower!

I've used a corded Rotak 43 for years. This machine is getting a bit tired and long in the tooth, and I have been looking for a suitable battery powered alternative. Now I have found one.I bought the 36-850 (46cm cut) with the 36v, 6 Ah battery. And I am delighted with it.Battery life is great and I get 1.5 to 2 full cuts on our c.550sq. m lawn. For substantially larger lawns I would say a spare battery would be essential for uninterrupted mowing.Maneuverability is also great and although the machine is fairly hefty I find it much easier to navigate than the old corded version.The grassbox is also very easy to empty and attaches without fiddling around, rather more securely - without 'leaks' than the older model.The cut does not go quite as low as the corded one did, but that is not a bad thing. On the lowest setting, the grass is nicely short without being like a bowling green.And this machine is SO quiet compared to the corded version. A bit of a WOW thing for me.Finally, the time to cut the grass is reduced by around 20-30 minutes depending on length.Overall, I am delighted and can fully recommend the latest Bosch Advanced Rotak 36-850 mower.David.

Good enough battery life to do a greater than pocket handkerchief sized lawn to my surprise. Also sufficiently light and mobile enough so those with two X chromosomes can use without needing the strength and endurance often required to start reluctant 4 stroke petrol engines.

The Battery failed so had to buy a replacement. Not cheep. The way the grass collects around the motor (you dont see this as the housing screwed over the motor hides this) means that its just going to overheat. So after about 18 months of ownership it has failed. Wont be going back to this brand, doubtless will be going to electric, probably back to a petrol lawnmower.

A good electric mower - does the job and is pretty quiet. Also light enough to pick up.

Unfortunately the first machine I received broke the first time I used it - the roller came off. It was quickly replaced without question. The height adjuster on the first machine had seemed very stiff and I suspect that might have been related to the problem with the roller so I'm being careful with the height adjuster on the replacement machine just in case. That's the only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars. I've now used the replacement machine several times and am very happy with it.The battery charging and fitting is very straightforward. In comparison to my old petrol rotary mower it is much easier to start, very light and easy to manoeuvre around fruit trees in the lawn. It's also much quieter. It's coping well with a small bank. It's wider than my old machine and the design means that it's easy to get closer to the edge of the lawn. The width and the much larger grass bag are saving a lot of time. The blades are just as robust as my old machine. It's too early to tell how long the battery will last and whether it will need much maintenance but so far the replacement machine has met all my expectations.

I have big front and back gardens. With advancing years I have dreaded cutting them both. I thought of getting a petrol mower but the weight put me off. The price of the cordless put me off but I bit the bullet and bought one. It is the best thing I have ever bought for my garden. I can cut both lawns in a fraction of the time and with less effort. No long leads to get tangled up in. The battery life is surprisingly long and the height adjustment is so easy. Assembly is minimal and takes minutes. The battery charge time is quick. I highly recommend it.

Bought to replace older model from Bosch. I found it to be an improved design.
