IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT DOWN, OR EVEN GET OVER!
This is book is enthralling. I will agree that the first 100-150 pages are a little ahrd to keep up with but trust me, once you cross 200 pages (which if you're a fast reader, you should be able to cross with two days uptop) you will not know how fast you'll be flying through the pages. The thrill just picks up like a sudden liftoff and you get to see so much of action unlike any other book. There is very little romance, but that's the whole point. Its a very Angry and dark book. The protagonist is badass and had been through a lot. I can tell that there is a lot of creepy stuff in here, clairvoyance and blood magic and all that stuff. The best part is that it's all set in Yale University which is already pretty famous thanks to its position in the Ivy Leagues and it's (shush) secret societies! I swear I've never wanted to change my university so bad xD . Definitely recommend this for those thrill lovers. Its not cheesy, its badass. Love you Leigh!!

A Goodreads Choice Awards winner for Fantasy
I picked this book because this was a Goodreads Choice Awards winner for Fantasy in 2019. Also, there is a review by Stephen King right on top of the cover.Well, I'm not disappointed. There is so much happening that it gets overwhelming at times, most of the time. This is my first book by Leigh Bardugo and she is vastly successful in creating an atmosphere that is vividly visualized to strengthen her plot. You should be warned about the content here: drug use, overdosing, murder, death, gore, rape, child (12) rape (very graphic), a magical date rape drug, forced eating of human wasteNow since that is sorted, it is a very interesting read. A fantasy that's more mature. And obviously the book ends with a cliffhanger and yes I can't wait to grab the second book but that is going to take a while.

Grungy yet insightful
If one had to move magic away from the good old fantasy and then place it in the very real and very cruel world how does one do it? They make it dark and dangerous or so the author thinks. The book is a real treat. It's tense and tangible. the characters are so humanely imperfect that I can't help love it. There is a very open ode to the people that society will see as worthless through the set p of the main character. She is nowhere near great nor is she good. She creates surprises throughout the book like nobody's business. The plot itself kept getting better as I kept turning the pages.from my above words, it's easy to understand I absolutely loved the dark world created by Bardugo. her storytelling style is refreshing despite how sinister the plot was. I think it will be very hard for me to wait for the next part..

AMAZING....MUST READ
Bloody hell! That's all you would say at the end of this book. Literally!!I love the works by Leigh Bardugo. The way she will keep you glued to the book is just simply amazing. The grishaverse is not just a figment of her imagination but a reality for us common folks. That being said, this book is definite change from her usual theme building. She has definitely gone dark in her style here.If you are squeamish while reading about gore and violence...I would suggest you to go slow on this one. There are a lot of trigger points in the book. The major focus are the female characters which is what I loved about it.*mild spoilers ahead*The author has a lot of emphasis on names. It's a recurring theme from one of the stories from 'Language of Thorns'.Also, Darkling and Darlington sound kinda the same. These both characters have a lot more in common than you think.Eagerly waiting for the sequel now....can. not. Keep. Calm.

Pretty good specimen.
Arrived in great condition today!! So excited to dive into this one!!! The cover is gorgeous, the serpent and the title is glossily printed, and the font size is pretty comfortable! (will update the review after I read it,rating it for the condition)Edit: I finished reading the novel! And oh wow!! It's soo complex and full of details. I really liked Galaxy and Darlington's characters. The last chapters before the finale felt like a let down but then, the end is WOW. so, we'll wait for the sequel now- which has NO release date yet. 4.5 stars for the plot.

Amazing
**TW: sexual assault, rape, drug abuse, death, gore.**Alex Stern gets a mysterious scholarship at Yale. The catch? She has to monitor the activities of Yale's secret societies, which aren't what they seem, full of sinister activities of the occult. At first, I wasn't sure about reading this book, most of the reviews said it was a very boring book, and couldn't get through it. I understand where these opinions come from, but this book is perfect for you if you like dark academia and urban fantasy. I personally couldn't put this book down, it was such a rollercoaster of emotions. The last few chapters had so many plot twists you won't ever see coming. Leigh Bardugo did it again and wrote my favorite book of the year, I absolutely cannot wait for Alex Stern #2.
