I used step 1 of this mixed in with 12 oz Schwarzkopf blondme 9+ lightener and 18 oz of 40 volume developer, used step 2 after rinsing and shampooing the lightener off, toned my hair with Wella color charm, rinsed and shampood that, then used step 3 of this. I let my hair air dry without product and felt that my hair feels significantly less damaged than I would have expected after yet another bleaching and lack of trim in over 6 months. I still have breakage when I brush but my hair doesn’t feel like straw and the curl pattern appears to still be there unlike previous times I’ve bleached! I have used olaplex number 3 leave in before and feel that this stuff might be a good runner up.

Bleached my hair like 5 times and no damage and i use as directed. I love this product keeps my hair feeling and looking so healthy after every bleach session 100% recommend!!

This system is okay. Easy to figure out what to use when. However, the smell on one of them isn't exactly appealing (can't remember which one), but it left my hair relatively soft. However, I would say for the money, next time I'll get the small bottles of Olaplex.

I began bleaching and coloring my own hair at home during the pandemic and I needed a bond building product that would lessen the bleach’s drying effects on my hair. I take my naturally light brown hair to a banana peel shade in order to prepare it for the color of my choice in the next step. Since determining to revamp my entire beauty routine to cruelty free products, I was delighted to discover pH Plex, a value priced Olaplex dupe that is sold to anyone like me who is not a licensed beautician. (Olaplex allows customers to purchase the third step product to take home from the salon for repair use between colors, but non-beauticians cannot buy steps one or two, used in the actual bleach and color process.) With pH Plex, I can purchase all three steps to use 1) with my bleach mixture, 2) after bleaching to restore condition and softness and 3) repair treatments in between colors. Between being accessible to anyone, cruelty free and very well priced, it’s hard to say what I like the most about this product!

I now add this to my lightener instead of using expensive Olaplex. It helps my sensitive scalp immensely! If you can afford both, use both brands. But right now this is all I can afford and it has helped me a lot. Use steps 1&2 once a week with your normal shampoo/conditioner routine to maintain a good ph on your scalp. **EDIT 6/26/22** So after using this for THREE months now, I am still SO thrilled about this product. I can actually brush my bleached hair with no ends breaking off. When I’m doing my dark roots, I add packet 1 to my Shimmer Lights Violet Lightener and use 20 vol developer. After that processes for 30-40 min, I rinse thoroughly. Then I mix packet 2 with Shimmer Lights Plex Treatment and leave that on for 15 min. Then rinse and wash. I recommend a clarifying shampoo & conditioner once a week to remove buildup on the scalp. That’s what was causing some irritation for me. Enjoy!
