Major upgrade
If youre like me and upgrading the spindle on your cnc, youll probably be recommended this a lot, and honestly theres a reason for that, the standard motor on the cnc is 7k RPM, this is 20K and so a major improvement, if you want to feel the full effects of that, this will need its own power supply as it takes a fair bit, but it can still be ran at speed without just having less torque to it, the nut and collet provided is alright quality but safe yourself the hastle and buy one of each individually, youre buying a spindle, not those parts and so may be slightly off and make noise, which is why Ive given it a 4/5 on accuracy, as the vibration from that makes it majorly louder, as well as the added speed of course, but still having this spindle at such a low price has made milling softer materials so so much easier and better, with it even milling aluminium at a push (this is all without its own power supply like I said). So overall this spindle will get your job done, and done well at that, it is still a budget spindle, but is a damn good one and I totally recommend it.

Loud but powerful
The motor is very loud but runs much truer than original motor in my 3018.

Fast and loud
It's much faster and more powerful than the standard spindle motor. It's also much louder, I have been using ear defenders with it.It also burned out a diode on the controller even with ramping up speeds. I think if you are loading it during a cut (I was milling aluminium) then it can exceed the board power.I now have it on an upgraded power supply with a new motor driver separate from the main control board. This gives great results.Overall 4 stars, its good but not quite a drop in replacement.

Big improvement for PCB work using small cutters, but important to check chuck nut balance!!!!
I bought this 20,000rpm spindle motor as the stock 9000rpm motor was barely fast enough for PCB isolation routing.Initially on first run up I was shocked at how much vibration and noise there was!!After investigation, this was not a fault of the motor and spindle itself, but the collet nut being out of balance. I STRESS to anyone experiencing big vibration on these motors that they try running it with the nut and collet removed!! Mine was very smooth with very little runout. After trying several nuts, only 2 out of 6 were acceptable (the others shook the whole machine ridiculously!). I do believe there are nuts with balance hoes available.Coupled with a home made soft start, I'm now really happy with the spindle, and making pcb's for fun!!

Terrifyingly loud and snapped a bit instantly
I'm not sure how this has noise suppression, it is on par with a full size circular saw for noise, I was expecting a bit more noise but extra performance moving from a 10k spindle but using the same bit and settings that I had been using for multiple project for my 10k motor to try it out the bit snapped after roughly 2cm of cutting, I thought this may have been a one off so tried again and the exact same issue happened again, maybe I got a loud imbalanced motor but its in the box ready to return and ill stick to my cheapo 10k motor thanks.

Simple yet brilliant upgrade for standard 3018 machine.
This spindle is a great upgrade for a standard 3018 setup. No modifications are required to install it. I simply removed the stock unit and replaced it with this. I'm now able to cut twice as quickly.Very pleased with this purchase. Please note that this spindle is loud. But this is something you should expect as it's running at more than double the speed of the stock spindle.

All looked OK but then problem
Everything looks of good quality. Mount for Spindle motor fits well. Problem occurred when I wired the power supply to the mains supply, immediately tripped the out the Supply. Having to return.
