Best Medical Anatomy Book out there
This is the most useful textbook I have ever used. For any subject or any course. I am using this textbook to help me learn Medical School Anatomy and it is perfect for my learning style. This book breaks down every body area down into their bones, muscles, nerves, arteries, veins, lymphatic, and organs (for Thorax and abdomen), but also provides comprehensive images so you can see how everything goes together. It also provides summary tables for all of the muscles (including origin, insertion, innervation and function) broken down by compartment (i.e. lateral compartment of the leg, anterior compartment of the leg etc. It also breaks the nerves down so you can see each nerve separately before having to see them all at once, and it provides tables with includes the branching of nerves and the muscles and cutaneous areas that they innervate.I was an engineer before medical school so the systematic breakdown of the anatomy is absolutely perfect for me. I would also recommend it to anyone out there who is Dyslexic and trying to learn anatomy, or really anyone who can't rote memorize, but needs to learn material conceptually and in an organized manner.Seriously, I could not recommend this book more highly. I am at a medical school with one of the more rigorous anatomy courses out there and I have needed no other resources besides this book.If you're on the fence about what anatomy book to buy, don't be. Buy this one. Its amazing and you won't regret it.For the record, I have been using the printed edition, not the Kindle one.

5 Stars for Illustrations, 4 stars for Kindle Edition
I'm a first year PT student and this was the required atlas for our Gross Anatomy class, however the professors acknowledged that we could probably get by with any atlas. Since I had no previous atlas, I decided to buy this one, and go one step further to get the Kindle edition so I could use it on my iPad, and not have to lug a giant book around with me. Having seen someone else with a Netter atlas, I can easily say I prefer this book. The illustrations are simply beautiful and presented in many different views, which is helpful.Generally speaking, compared to the print edition, the Kindle version is fine. However, I took off one star because there are some problems I found with the Kindle edition (not sure if these specific problems also apply to the print edition). For example, there are two tables of muscles and related information - table 39.3 and 39.4 - that are missing information, in this case, the names of the muscles themselves! Granted, it is not difficult to piece together which muscle it should be based on the other information that is in the table, but when I am trying to quickly reference information, it is an inconvenience. In a nutshell, if I could do it over, I would buy the print edition, but I wouldn't say I regret buying the Kindle version either. I saved a lot of money over the print edition, and the portability of it on a tablet device has been great.

Great, but with some drawbacks
Easily the most beautiful pictures of all the Anatomy texts. Clear, stunning, picturesque. You can just look at them for enjoyment. This book also has good information regarding innervation/insertion/etc, but you will likely have Moors clinical anatomy for that.Downsides are 1. It is not the standard for most schools, Netters is. 2. Netters floods each picture with as much anatomical information as possible. Thieme goes for a cleaner look and seems to include less information per page. This is a double edge sword. It makes for easier to see images/ easier "big picture" learning, but you want to throw this book across the room when your trying to find a nerve/vessel that simply isn't highlighted in the picture (when you think it should be). Many times it will be in netters, so in Anatomy lab most tables used netters. Never saw people using this.I personally bought this book, but did not use it extensively. A lot of anatomy learning was done in labs, and netters was the go to for reason listed in #2.Overall I don't recommend netters over this, nor do I recommend this over netters. It is really just personal preference. This is a great book, and will serve any anatomy student well. I wouldn't necessarily suggest it for anatomy lab, however.

Gorgeous pictures, but not what my school uses
I'm a 1st year medical student at a school that is pretty dedicated to Netter's, with Clinically Oriented Anatomy (Moore) as a supplement. I bought The Theime atlas because the presentation of some of the information was organized a little more to my way of learning. For example, the innervation of the limb muscles is laid out in charts that I seem to process more easily than what's in Moore. The pictures are beautiful. Netter was no slouch, the work is amazing, but the plates in Netter's are more painted and artistic compared to the clean, sharp lines of this atlas. The biggest downside to buying this is that it is not what our school uses, so references in presentations and note packages are all to the Netter's plates, leaving you to dig for corresponding plates in Theime. I'm happy I bought it, but it may be overkill for some.

It's a must have!
I'm finishing my nursing school prerequisites and am taking Anatomy this semester and this book is AMAZING! My professor had it listed as a suggested resource so very few of my classmates bought it but I am so grateful I did! The combination of illustrations and pictures is a really effective way of making sense of how our body works and how all the pieces fit together. The best part is that because this isn't a topic constantly changing, I know this book will be a resource for years to come. It comes with a year long subscription to the Winking Skull website, but unfortunately that is completely useless and mostly shows pictures of what your subscription doesn't include and try to get you to pay a premium. Kind of shady, I don't think upselling should be a part of an educational resource.

Great Atlas! but...
the quality of the mail transport of Amazon was not good. The book was damaged when I received it. Not the first time in the last months. To the book itself: Great realistic images (similar to german Prometheus Atlas), easy to navigate in, much more detail than Netters and better overview. Netter is the past, Gilroy is the future!

The book was good quality, in great condition
The book was good quality, in great condition. The video has been useful thus far in my medical school career. I have used it well, it is good to learn from for visual learners.

ottimo manuale a prezzi accessibili
Molto contenta dell'acquisto. consiglio

made the right choice when I got this
It was not the recommended atlas by my university but when I got it, a lot of my colleagues liked it and asked where I got it, best illustration, not insanely detailed but good amount of info to go by, I do recommend it :)
