SSG The Rancher Glove - Natural - 7

I wear my gloves to hack around and do some barn work about twice a week. I have to say these are comfortable, soft and durable. I almost forget I'm wearing them. I have them in natural, but I think I'll have to get black too - maybe I'll get the winter ones.They're sensitive enough for holding the reins, yet durable enough to muck out a stall!!!!

Nice quality, good fit, perfect for barn chores and even trail riding. SSG is a go-to glove for me.

I own five pairs of these gloves to keep in various locations around the farm, and not one pair fits the same as another. One has a thumb twice as long as its mate, on another pair the cuff elastic hits uncomfortably at the base of my palm rather than my wrist, on another the ring finger is way longer than the middle. And the quality of the deerskin is inconsistent as well. One pair is very thick and rigid, another is thin and buttery soft, another has this one scratchy spot inside the thumb. For the price you might expect a higher level of quality control.On the upside, these gloves take a beating and wear pretty well. I've even run'em through the washing machine -- I work with horses so my gloves get really gross really fast -- with some success. I air-dry them and after an initial re-break-in period (maybe 15-30 minutes) they're the same as they ever were. The thinner ones come out the best, but even the thick ones de-stiffen after a while. The dye runs like mad, though, so if you do this, take suitable precautions.So: unpredictable fit is somewhat offset by durability, but the initial expense makes them not the best value.

Wonderful gloves. Small seams. Fits according to the size chart. Great grip while riding and lunging.

I'm a horse trainer and manage a small farm. I LOVE all my SSG gloves, nothing else fits so perfectly. Before I found these I was constantly taking off my gloves to do buckles and clasps, but these fit well enough that I can keep them on and still have enough dexterity to perform fine motor tasks. They are soft and supple but also strong enough to hold up to hard work, so I can use them riding and stacking hay and mucking and turning over garden beds.... I live in these in the summer and the winter version when it's cold.

I love these gloves, they are so soft and pliable, it's like having a second skin.

They are not that much warmer than the other leather work gloves that I get. However, they do have nicer stitching and a better quality leather than most.
