We're using this book in our couples small group to see how our marriages stack up against God's plan for them, and I know I don't just speak for myself when I say lives have been changed. The quality of my marriage (which I thought was fine) has improved in just a few short weeks because my paradigm for marriage has been shaken to its core. This book cleans HOUSE with the use of LOTS of scripture to spell out the roles of both husband and wife, giving the Holy Spirit ample opportunity to change hearts.The units begin with a reading section with scripture to look up, that the husband and wife are to read together. Then there is a question section that does a great job of making you think of things about your marriage that have never been explored. My husband and I can usually read and answer questions within an hour's time. At group, we discuss the reading section with everybody and then split up by gender for accountability.Be teachable, and get ready for the ride...God wants the best for our marriages, and this book spells out the whys and hows. It is a great tool.

This is easily the best marriage book ion the market today. It covers the main areas of marriage (God's purpose for marriage, responsibilities of husband and wife, communication, finances, sex, children and family religion) in a thorough, 100% scriptural way . It carefully explains God's ultimate goal for the marriage relationship, which is to be a reflection of Christ's relationship to the church. The chapter on communication is worth the price of the entire book in itself; it completely revolutionized the way my spouse and I communicate with each other. Wayne Mack's instruction is very practical and easy to understand. His questions are extensive, probing and productive. This excellent study is ideal for individual study, group studies, and marriage counseling. If the ones working through it are sincere and willing to apply themselves to the work, they will discover that their marriage will be transformed into the strong, glorifying union God intended it to be.

The author goes out of his way to seek the Bible as the standard by which he explains the roles of husbands and wives in the marriage relationship. This is an excellent book for anyone who is thinking about getting married, engaged to be married, happily married, or struggling in their marriage. I have found this book very insightful and my role as a husband as well as a good source in helping others in there Christian wall as husband and wife.

Purchased this book for premarital counseling and it is an eye-opener. Loved every unit as it was a swift and easy read. Some of the supplementary questions seemed redundant, but necessary to drill it into your head! Recommended several friends to purchase this book.
