Works well, good value. But has a weird smell.

This is my go to substrate for my snakes. It comes super compacted and by adding water, mixing it, and letting it dry (if you want/need it to be dry). I mix mine with some bioactive stuff I get from a friend and this substrate goes from a tiny little brick to a ton of soil! You get a good amount in each brick and the substrate itself is soft and is able to hold messes that occur in the terrarium really well. When it's completely dry, it does tend to fly in the air and can make you sneeze but I just turn on my air filters to take care of it. I do recommend getting a large sheet/box to dry it in if you need it compeletly dry or need some dry soil asap.

It is a quality product with even sized shredds. It is also easy to use.

My son has a crested gecko, so we've tried a couple of different brands. We've found this worked great and is very cost-effective.
