Without getting into the technical specs, I purchased this item so that we have a backup to our gas generator. The manufacturer recommends keeping this unit plugged in to help maintain the battery. As such, when not using with solar panels I keep this by my desk with laptop, monitor, and mobile devices plugged in. The performance of the battery while not plugged in to the wall outlet has been impressive going for several days without dropping below 80% battery capacity. We have frequent electrical storms where I typically unplug all of my devices during the storm to prevent damage from power spikes. With this generator I am able to continue working without having to unplug my devices; simply disconnect the unit from the wall outlet and continue working uninterrupted during the storm.
