This is the best thing out there "right now" to protect insulin, however, around 17-18 years ago, pharmacies used to sell something similar that had a lid on it as well to protect the top where you insert the syringe. Here are some pictures of mine and yes, it is worn, that is why I am shopping around hoping to find the same item, but it has lasted all of these years! I sure wish someone would start making these again!

This was a perfect fit for my Novolin vial. I'm glad I don't have to take it anymore, but it was great to have the extra protection for the few weeks I needed to carry it around with me.

Perfect for my insulin vials! I don't feel like I have to be as cautious when trying to fill up my syringes now. These give me a little more sense of security and espeically when traveling with the insulin this way it has an added advantage of staying colder longer. They have not fallen apart and the vials fit very snug inside.

This stuff is incredible. It's great to find something that works without the burning of menthol, camphor, or capsicum. Have been using for 20 years. Back in the day it came in a glass bottle, would be awesome if it still did!

This stuff mixed with water is the only way to get white grout clean! Hard to wipe it up as with all cleansers but works so well.

I bought 2 of these, one in purple for my Humalog and one in neon green for my Humulin. I can't afford to break a $150 vial of insulin!
