Great camera for beginners
One day I decided to make a YouTube channel having zero clue how to even turn on a camera let alone film. This camera is a great value and is just right for a hobbyist like myself. The ability to take pictures and video record makes my vlogging simple. Very compact, not clunky. What was more impressive at how clear the videos were when I uploaded them. And transferring to a video program was super easy.Only somewhat nit pick is the battery does drains fast if you film for an extended period of time. I was filming for 45 minutes once and the camera battery dropped rather quickly to +/-30%.I highly recommend this model. Catch me on my youtube channel "Forgotten Cemeteries of the PNW" if you'd like to see it in action.

The best camera ever
I’ve got this camera a couple of years ago and since then it’s like my right hand. I’ve used it in tons of travels, events, music videos, Instagram posts etc.It surely needs a good source of light almost every time, but this is so handy, powerful and easy to use. I can’t wait to get a new model.Btw I need a new selfie stick and accessories because they are broken and never never forget to get a good aluminium or hard case to protect it against hits.

best go pro ever
I have had all versions of go pros since version 2 and use them in recent years primarily for teaching. The image quality became better and better in each version. I like the front page view so that one can adjust the camera better as the back part is often not accessible. An other slight change from go pro 8 to go pro 9 is that the menu is two layered. It is now a bit harder to get to the memory card reset. These days, I do not take out the memory card any more but use the apple image capture app to get the videos out. Battery life can still be an issue when recording in highest resolution. For teaching purposes, I always connect now the camera to a power supply so that also a 90 minute video is possible.

It's a Gopro
Obvious things to complain about are battery life and overheating issues. Battery life is ok using the stock batteries, getting the updated batteries though shows improved performance both in hot and cold environments. Overheating has only been an issue when standing still for long periods of time in hot weather, but it is an action cam and relies on air passing over it to aid in cooling so if you sit in a room recording or standing still in the heat it will heat up and shut down, the possibility is increased if you are using external power source as well. This is not a big deal if you are using it as an actual action cam, but if being used as a vlog cam it will obviously be more likely to happen. Overall I have been happy with it and have only had it overheat on me twice, both times in outdoor temps of 103f+ chatting with friends on the trail, once moving again it was not an issue.

Gopro fanboys were right. Gopro is a great camera.
This is my first Gopro camera and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. I don't know how to set all of the settings to get fantastic video out of it yet, but just the stock settings, to my eye look fantastic. The videos look realistic. Closer to what you would see with the naked eye than with other cameras I've used. The only other camera I have to compare this to is the Insta360 SMO 4K camera, which is a strip down version of the Insta360 1R camera. The stabilization on the Gopro is far better. The video quality is far better. I'm not a photographer. I don't pretend to be one. I'm just the normal non camera person and this is a non camera person's impression of the Gopro Hero 9. It's pricy, but it's good. If you buy Gopro knock-offs you'll end up spending more money in the end because the fake ones and copies will break and won't give you as nice of quality video. My dad for example probably has $500 worth of cheap knock-off Gopro cameras. Most of them don't work anymore and of the 1 that does still work, it locks up and gives really bad video. He could have spent less to get the genuine article.

Definitely worth buying! Great pictures and video options
By far the most impressive GoPro I have ever owned. The 20MP camera functionality makes this great to bring to my kids sporting events and the 14.7MP frame grabs have been fun to pull out of the videos. I love the front screen and plan on buying a housing for any rugged activities. I have been playing around with the “Hindsight” feature (captures something like 30 seconds before you hit the button) at my kids baseball game which is really cool because I don’t need to record the whole game to find a good action shot or miss a spectacular play. By far one of the sweetest options. I am really looking forward to testing this out in the cold being it has a bigger battery that my HERO8. It is a little heavier than my HERO8, but I think the trade off is worth it for sure with the 20MP pictures and all the updates and battery life. Looking forward to getting some great video and pictures before winter.
