Precision Port 4 Inch Flared Port Tube Kit
S**.
essential for high-performance ported subwoofers
I used this for a 12" home subwoofer in a 4.6 cu.ft enclosure, tuned to 20 Hz. It's easy to install, and the flared ends eliminate chuffing and give a professional look. If you don't cut the tube, it gives 18" total physical length, but 17" effective length (the length used in the tuning calculations). If needed, it can be cut a lot shorter. Each port is composed of 5 pieces: two flared ends (the outside flare is a little wider than the inside one), one 4" diameter tube, and two identical collars which connect the flared ends to the tube. The only thing I don't like is that, as of early 2017, there are no curves/elbows available for these Precision Ports. I don't know if regular ABS plumbing elbows would fit. So using the tube at longer lengths requires a large enclosure. You need to use ABS cement (glue) to join the 5 pieces together. After you've applied the glue and pressed the pieces together, you only have a few seconds to twist or re-position the pieces, if necessary. After that it's permanent. The key is to fit the pieces together properly and quickly. If you don't have experience gluing ABS tubing, it's best to practice on scrap tubing first. Also, it's easy to get beads of excess glue to drip out on the inside. It won't affect the sound but will be unsightly. You can scrape off excess glue with your fingernail about 30-60 minutes after applying.

If you plan on a port, Just buy it!
So there I was, subwoofer design program in hand, PVC pipes in my head, router at my fingertips... I was going to make my own flared and radiused port. Piece of cake really, its all straight forward. Build up the required thickness of wood, take your router, and a really nice fat radiused (1") round over bit.....By the time you aquire the stuff, and put it together, and then make the radiused flange, you could have earned more money than it cost to buy this thing. And it probably won't be as nice nor work as well.So I just bought it, and sure enough, it was fantastic. I also took the time to assemble it dry and to sand some of the unions to get smoother air flow. Also, I mounted it with 8 screws on the front instead of 4 (yeah, I'm one of THOSE types).Works like a charm. I have a 4 cu.ft. box tuned to 22 hz (home theater), and when it is pumping way down low, all you "hear" or feel rather, is that rumble, no chuffing. I am very please.By using a single 4" flared port like this, I was able to avoid having to use twin 3 inch ports with no flaring. Totally worth the price.

Mediocre design
It is about a 6 decibel gain with this port compared to when sealed. I measured it with my ears and decibel reader. So that means if you got a 500 watt ported enclosure, it will sound about equally as loud as a 2000 watt sealed enclosure. The bad part is that there is no padding when the port makes contact with the box making it prone to air leaking that becomes audible. I would value this port at half the price because of this. So if the surface that you are connecting the port to is un-level or the port is just slightly bent out of shape then the air will leak. In other words, the surface where the drills holes on the port area and the surface of your box that will make contact with the port will have to be perfectly level or else the smallest air leak will become audible. They should make a new model of this port with padding to reduce the air leak if something is uneven.

Great product!
Great quality, nice packaging with directions that are easy to follow. Would definately recommend this prduct.wating to test and find out how they sound. I will write an update after tested.UPDATE: Well i finished building a Sub box that housed 3 12" Rockford Fosgate P3 with one of thes porting each cell that housed the sub and was very impressed with there ability to move air and sound great. The sad part was i sold the box i designed and Built.I was so happy with this product that i have bought 2 more for my next design & build. A RF T1D212 2012 generation, 800 watts RMS 1600 watt peak. I plan to install 2 of these ports in a custom box to fit nicely in the trunk of my 03 Lancer, being powered by a RF T1000.1 DB amp pushing 1200 to the 12. It should hit hard and clear with these ports.I recommend these to all who seek clean tunable bass. Thanks Precision.

Awesome port
This port is a full 5 stars. So I had to build a custom ported box for a customer consisting of 15" sub n a 2000 jeep wrangler lets just say there is no dang room to work with. Anyway long story short I used this port and the bass is super clean w no port noise. This is definitely a 5 star product and is very easy to use. Box is 2.5 cu ft internal with port and sub displacement and tuned @35hz.Sorry just noticed in pics you cant even hardly see the port haha. You can kinda see it in the top right corner of the last pick

Sounds good and its Cheap
General infoI used this port to create a home theater sub using the Dayton MKIII 15" woofer. For this installation I have the port mounted in the back with the sub facing forward. I can easily say that I cannot hear any port noise. My subwoofer response is quite low, dynamic and smooth. Even at high volume levels I dont hear a hint of the port.InstallationThe product was quite easy to install. 1st cut the port to desired length, 2nd glue together using a strong adhesive ( i used krazy glue) 3rd position then cut out a hole in your sub box for the smaller end of the port, 4th mount using 4 screws ( these are not included).I would recommend this port based on its efficiency, low cost, and ease of installation.

Great product
I was worried about this not working well but after building my sub box 3/4 inch thick MDF for one 12 inch 900 watt speaker and using the specs from my speaker instructions that said it should be 7 inches in length, used super glue to tie together; HUGE BASS! Great product, I tried covering the port by putting it on its side down on floor, Bass is lost, I would recommend this for future box builds that require a port
