This yoga mat is slick. I am unable to currently use it for yoga. I have to put my old non-slippery smaller yoga mat on top of this one, which defeats most of the reasons why I bought it. That said, it will be great for stretching though, it rolls easily, it is light weight for easy transport, absolutely great customer service, no smell at all, and grips my wood floor well. However, I am unable to use it for yoga, as both my hands and feet slide like crazy.UPDATE: 8.17.17: Once the yoga mat gets "dirty" with dust and skin oils, it becomes sticky. I now use it without any sliding, without any Rosin in my hands. It is a product I would recommend highly now, after it has been well used.

This is a great mat and exactly what I have been looking for! I originally had the single square puzzle piece mats and while I loved them, they were constantly separating when I did lunges, mountain climbers, burpees, etc. It was very frustrating and I knew I needed another option so I didn't have to take the 3 minutes from my workouts to fix the mats 2 or 3 times during my workout. The size of this mat is great and allows me to do all of my routines without falling off the mat or hanging off the mat. I am glad I went for the 8x6 and not the 6x6. The one thing I am unsure about is how long it will last, as I ignored the recommendation that it is not for use with shoes. You see, I am tight on money right now so I couldn't afford the $199 exercise mat and had to settle for the cheaper yoga mat. My workouts switch from weight lifting, to jumping, to Jillian Michaels, to Insanity and T25 workouts, all with minimalist shoes. I was hoping that it would be able to tough it out, at least for a year or so until I had the money to buy the more expensive exercise mat. So far so good, but I only have had it for a week. But the quality seems very good and I think it might last for much longer. So while I am not recommending that any one do what I did (wear shoes on it), and expect the mat to last forever I have high hopes for it working out great for me for hopefully a long time.As for the quality, it had a slight smell when I unrolled it but after a day, I don't notice it anymore. It is thin but very cushioning and supportive for jumping. When I used to do my jumps on the other mats which were much thicker, I would still feel a slight impact. With this mat, I don't feel that any more. I also think it has quieted the squeaks in my floor, if that's even possible (I am jumping on a hardwood floor).Overall it is a great mat and I would recommend it to any exercise enthusiast who needs a one piece mat for their exercise routines. I am happy to say, my mat does not separate any more during my workouts

My partner and i like doing yoga together, youtube is great! Anyways our poses often ended up off our yoga mats or in each other's way. So this 6x8 fits our space great and keeps us on the mat and out of each other's way.I don't know which side goes up though, and there is no logo. I emailed the seller and got no response so deducting a star for that.

I'm 6'4" 220lbs so the regular yoga mats don't work for me. They basically become sweat collectors and pad to sit on, but any movement put my knees and arms out past the pad. Not with this one! I can stretch my full length in any direction knowing I will have a soft clean surface underneath. It is particularly a god send for positions that put weight on my knees as it is wide enough to let me have them at my natural position and the extra padding is great for my heavier weight. It has truly reinvigorated my yoga practice. And I can even get my girlfriend involved as this mat is big enough to share (for most routines anyway).My only complaint (I didn't deduct a star because this is certainly not a requirement for this product) is that it be a little more life proof. My dog walked on it once and his nails went through about 75% deep. Just walking, and he's only 65lbs. So far the rip has stayed contained to the claw marks but my concern is that it will fall apart in the weeks to come.Update 1 year later - the dog claw marks are still there but have not gotten worse or spread. Pad still great.

Size is great but the mat is too squishy and slippery. Imprints & squashed down. Just end up being annoyed and switching to a tradiional yoga mat. Suggest finding a mat with more resilience.

It’s a good piece for sure and does the job but any little bit of sweat and you truly start slipping. The grip technology is poor. I use it upside down because the bottom actually has better grip while the top is very slippery

I was really hoping to love this mat - but it won't stay flat. I even put a lot of effort in to try to keep it flat by putting hand-weights along the perimeter but it still bunches up. Plus even if it stayed flat, i slide while trying to hold a yoga pose. So the surface/texture isn't right for yoga. The only 2 positives I can say is that it didn't have any odor as lots of rubber mats do, and it's a great size. It's one of the worst purchases I've made on Amazon. Let me save you the trouble - do not buy this mat.

I love, love, love this mat! I hate working out at the gym so I set up a mini gym in my garage. I used to have a similar mat to this and it worked great but then my husband accidently tipped over my floor length mirror and it shattered into a million pieces. To be safe I got rid of that mat and ended up purchasing this particular one by Square36. When I received it and took it out of the box there was none of that chemical smell you usually get from these types of mats. Just to be safe I aired it outside for a couple of hours. I noticed that the mat was thick, cushiony and was of excellent quality. I used it for the first time yesterday and I have to say it's excellent. Let's just hope my husband doesn't accidentally tip over another mirror over this mat because I absolutely love it. Thank you for a great product.
