Beautiful wallet that STINKS

I am actually really sorry to have to rate this item with just two stars. It is actually beautiful and sturdy. It is well and nicely made. It is just the right size and fits well in a pocket. It is phisically a great little wallet.But...It comes wrapped in plastic. When I unwrapped the plastic, a foul stench arose from the wallet that is so ghastly that I immediately took it outside. I am familiar with leather tanning, so I know that sometimes the things used to tan or dye the leather can smell. I figured I'd air it out for awhile and it would be fine. Well, it has been a few days and the raw, gut wrenching stench has not diminished.I am serious folks, this thing STINKS, and it's going to be unusable if it doesn't go away. I am going to try washing it, but I don't hold a lot of hope for it.

Functional and nice color, but odd odor

Like the color; makes it easy to find in my bottomless pit of a travel bag.But the leather has an odor. Hoping it wears off in time.
