Has anyone used the wd red pro drives as a raid-5 for video editing? i am also looking at mobius 5-bay raid enclosure to house these drives.

I use them in a RAID enclosure where electronic backups are kept. Not video editing, but possibly similar usage pattern - large files with big IO patterns. It's what these are made for - RAID, 7.2K RPM, 5 Year warranty. Not seen a failure in ~18 months of use so far.

If i already have drives 4tb wd red (not red pro) and i purchase the red pro, am i able to use it to its full potential? or will it bottleneck?

The only difference between red and red pro is the warranty. Its the same drive for both but where the red comes with a 3 year warranty, the red pro comes with a 5 year warranty. IMO, the extra cost for the additional 2 years is well worth the investment. I would also add that Western Digital's RMA process has to be the best that I have come across.

Yes, it would work fine in any NAS up to 16 bays. The description says says its for 8 to 16 bay NAS systems because it's designed to be used in larger NAS systems where the vibration from that many drives can destroy a drive that is not designed and built for that environment.

I bought 2 of these back in Sep 2014 for my QNAP-870 Pro. 1 is reporting bad sectors. I want to order another one for offline backup. Comments?

Are you using these drives in a mirror (RAID 1)? Is ther firmware of the drive up to date? These drives are designed for NAS use, but generally are not the ideal drive for standalone or RAID 0 implementations as they employ limited error recovery. For NAS use in non redundant arrays I would suggest SE or RE drives. Regardless, a few bad sectors is not really abnormal, however you may wish to utilize software to examine the pattern of bad sectors to see if it suggests impending failure. If the number is increasing I would RMA the drive. As for a stand alone offline drive, WD makes a very inexpensive drive limited use for archival storage and any decent drive (even WD Blue) for more frequent backup would be fine.
