My wife's laptop battery was dying and needed to be replaced, so I took on the challenge. I found the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) for her model and discovered the task wasn't too bad. It happens this battery comes with a couple of small screwdrivers. I don't recommend their use unless you've got NO other option. Removing the old battery wasn't hard. What I discovered, though, was that the connector on the old battery had to be removed and then installed on the new battery. It turned out to be OK, but I recommend taking a cautious approach to it. I also recommend using the procedure I found from another reviewer about making sure the computer had no lingering charge that would keep it from seeing the new battery properly. After I transfered the connector to the new battery, it was no problem to install and connect it. When I first put a load on the computer, the battery made something of a smell that I didn't know to trust, but it turned out to be no problem. No smoke. No burning. No delay in charging. Everything worked. In the end, I get to, once again, be my wife's tech hero. Money.

As my old charger needed to be replaced I had to use a 90 W charger as opposed to the usual 130 W. Overtime this led to the existing battery losing efficiency and dying without even notifying me that it was close to dying. The fans were also going like crazy, i assume because the battery was not functioning efficiently. Installed it in my Dell G3 15 3579 and got the correct wattage AC adapter and now laptop is working like a charm, no overheating and battery is working great

My laptop consumes a lot of charge, so Im used to my batteries not lasting very long on 1 charge, the original battery lasted around 2 hours per charge.Edit: I'm modifying my initial entry because the battery has a better performance than what I initially expected and the customer service from this company has been great.

This battery will not charge. It fits well enough and was fairly easy to install. However, it will not take a charge so it's useless.Update:I had to change settings in Dell power management to charge the battery to full. It was a software issue.

I can't tell how long it will last but it has been in my laptop now for about 3 weeks and is working fine. It is an easy install - just remove some screws in the back, remove the back cover, remove a couple of screws holding the battery in, pop off the connector, swap in, and replace screws. Everything lined up and it looks like the original OEM battery.

G7 15 only accepts dell branded batteries, firmware hard coded to not allow third party batteries.

I love this product. I was dreading ordering a battery, because I thought it was going to be too hard to put in. It was extremely easy. I was pleased with the packing and 3 hours of battery life is more than what I got when I purchased the laptop.

The battery worked as soon as it was installed and the price was much lower than the competitors. I purchased the battery only a month ago and I am satisfied with my purchase.
