Finally, something that tells you exactly what to do rather than the other crap if been purchasing! Many books out there pass off as instruction manuals but rather just give lengthy reviews as to why learning is important. This book touches up a little on the principles of learning, but gives way more direct instructions! I really appreciate how this book gives a well written procedure on how to implement learning techniques in my own classroom! THEY NEED TO MAKE MORE BOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!!!

I teach 6th grade and this book has defintely met my expectations. I needed some reading response activities to complete during a leveling group, and I wanted something that was fun and engaging, yet would still meet common core standards. This book was perfect for that. Each activity tells whether it can be used for informational text or literature (often both), and lists which of the reading standards it covers. It also offers extension ideas for the various activities. So far I've tried concrete (shape) found poems and Twitter responses and both were a huge success with my students. I'm looking forward to trying more with my group of kids.

It has a lot of ideas and strategies that I would have never thought about. It also provides some reading response templates. Highly recommend to liven up your reading time!!

This book has lots of manageable ideas to implement in the classroom. They are easy to use and helps break up the monotony in the classroom. It's also great that they are CC aligned. I'd highly recommend this book.

Great ideas for unique RR activities.

An awesome resource for responding to fiction and non-fiction texts. After 20 years of teaching 8th grade English, I have purchased many of these types of resources and this is one of the best. I have also successfully used many of the activities with my 6th graders.

This book is jammed pack with activities and ideas to use in the classroom. Pryle gives you everything you need to be successful and implement each lesson. A must buy for middle school ELA!
