Did not fit my deck rail. Make sure you ready measurements its actually for a 2 x4 rail not 4" railingI had to screw 2 2x4s down so that it stayed on the railingBut overall decent product just sits higher now

I was disappointed to learn that the forest green color has been discontinued. I have a composite deck with rails that are about a half inch narrower than a 2x4 deck rail. I have to mount a board of appropriate width in the channel of these boxes to fit the flower box snuggly on my deck rails. It is a simple modification that works, though, so I still like the rail boxes.

I found two of these at a big box store and just love them for my porch railing. I had to go to Amazon to get more. I bought six of the bone color to go on my white porch rails. They work perfect for my flowers , and stay on the railing really good.

This product is great for a deck railing plantar if you are looking for something that does not require brackets & screwing pieces into your railing. It sits perfectly on top of the railing (make sure to measure your railing so you get the proper fit).I will agree with another poster that this planter is a bit shallow in the center (this is the only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars). I got around that issue by placing my plants more towards the outsides which are deeper. If you want a much deeper planter, go with the round style of this same design, they are MUCH deeper than this rectangular version.

I filled this planter before putting on my porch rail, only to discover it would not fit. The description says it will fit a 4" rail, but it does not.

This flower box mounts on a 2x4 rail and fits snugly. Although I would prefer it to be a little deeper in center area it does what is expected. I live in Kansas and have used other planters which the wind has had its way with. This unit works and can withstand 30mph winds. The drainage is decent, the gage of plastic good enough to give impression it will last many years. Great value for the price <9.00

I have animals that like to eat my plants in my yard garden. So I primarily use these as part of my container garden on a porch. They fit snuggly over the rail, and yet even full of soil they are pretty light weight enough to move around.They drain well and are a great option if you have wood rails!

Work great, but sadly I have to put these on the ground because my railing is to thick:(
