Great Product
It took 12 days for me to receive this item, but given it was shipping from Berlin and the quality of the item it was worth the wait. Installation was easy ( for this application I used it in conjunction with the Franziska gooseneck, which gave me plenty of aiming options). You can definitely take the Dropcam out of the case if you wish after installing. Here in northeastern NC it has seen 90+ degrees temps this August and also some pretty good downpours and has not missed a beat. I considered adding some silicone RTV to where the USB cable comes out, but held off because I thought the small hole would aid in venting and since it is at the bottom it would serve as a drain for any condensation. I have been happy for the 2 weeks it has been in service. Hopefully the freezing temps in the winter will not affect it either. I just ordered 2 more Lisas from Dropcases's website since Amazon now lists them as unavailable for now. I will not use a gooseneck for these but straight against my brick wall for the front and back door. Bottom line is as a verified purchaser I would definitely recommend this. Hope Amazon gets them back in stock.

I feel bait and switched by this seller.
Item was poorly packaged and is not as described. What I thought I was buying from the description was a versatile dropcam case. A case that would accommodate a dropcam pro or HD. What I received was a very rigid case that had all the "optional" parts for my dropcam pro glued into the case with model glue. To top it off if I was to snap my dropcam into the case I would have to break the case in order to remove my camera since the face plate is glued to the case and you can not reach in to clean the lenses or remove the dropcam ever again. At $68 plus shipping and handling I do not feel this is worth the money I paid for it. I would have never purchased an item for my dropcam that I cannot clean or maintain. I feel bait and switched by this seller. These are the pictures of what I received:[...]

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
Well here is another review that Dropcase isn't going to like. 1) I purchased 2 of these units plus the option gooseneck arms. 2) the cases themselves are flimsy and both had inconsistent hardware. Screws are not the same within the same unit. flathead versus phillips head and they are different colors. 3) the cases are not even sealed properly to prevent moisture build up.Save your money and skip these cases. I for one will wait until DropCam developes an external camera. These cases are NOT weatherproof, nor will they do well with temperature changes. I will be sending these back or just throwing them out at this point. What a ripoff.

Dummy camera will provide same protection save yourself $60
I was using a fake camera housing cost $6 and was concerned it was not moisture tight . It turns out for $70 it's just about the same quality. They changed the way it mounts no more springsIn my opinion I would opt to bypass this item and buy a dummy camera for $6-10 and make it work for you it was not all that hard to do

IR doesn't work when you install the camera, and the water does leak into it, so I had to drill holes on the bottom of it, to drain it

Excellent product that needs just a little tweking
I would like to first of all say that I read the negative reviews on this product and would like to say that the reviews are unfair. I purchased this product because I thought that the drop cam camera itself was something I had been looking for because it can be discreet. Not quite in the covert/hidden camera category just yet, but adequate for my purpose and easy to set up. When I discovered these Drop cases I said that I could use these on the outside to replace my uniden cameras because the Drop cases could be discreet also. I am almost finish with my outdoor project using the Drop cases and I will post a picture soon. The product I think is sturdy enough; especially the newer version which I must mention that when I purchased my second Drop case, the seller contacted me before shipping the product and asked me if I wanted the newer version at no additional cost and I of course I said yes. It is a definite improvement from the first version no assembly required. Just put your drop cam in the fix slot, place the back cover on mount with the two screws provided. The review that stated that once you place the drop cam into the hole of the Drop case, there is no way to take it out. This is not accurate. I thought the same thing until I gently pulled on one side of the drop cam, then the other side and it came out with no problem. The Drop cam has two small collapsible burrs or tips, one on each side that locks the camera in place when using the stand that comes with the camera. So it's the same principal for the drop case. The one improvement that I think would improve the drop case is that the small notch creates too much of a bend in the USB power cable when coming out of the drop case and I think that if the mounting screws were tamper proof. However, concerning the issue with the USB power cord. I have contacted the company and got positive feed back. For now I think the Drop case is a wonderful accessory for the drop cam. I will post another review as to how it holds up to the weather. Just a small addition; I also think that the price is a little steep but understand that this is a business for profit and the product is coming from Germany.

Dropcam is a good product, but I don't feel good to use ...
Dropcam is a good product, but I don't feel good to use it outdoor without a housing. I found Dropcases is the only seller to offer the outdoor mounting option for Dropcam. It is very simple and easy to install. It will be nicer if it has some sort of strong tubing to hold the USB cable.
