This spinning top set is all metal and machined to perfection by hand. The top fits nicely into the base for storage and display or the other side's concave surface can be used to center the top while spinning and keep it from running off the table. Give the top a spin on the centering plate and it dances around the concave surface until finding its perfect center where it seems to stand still on its tip. With practice each spin can last minutes. This top set is 1 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches tall. The Top is made of 3 pieces of brass and aluminum pressed permanently together then shaped as one. There is no writing on this set and every piece is hand made in Saratoga Springs New York

A bit tinier than I expected
A tiny little top that, if you launch it just right, can spin a long time. The challenge is getting it launched right. The centering plate is very small and it takes huge technique to keep the top from skittering off the plate. And at dead center of the centering plate is a tiny metal bump, a result of the turning process. This also interferes slightly with spin time.On balance, it is well made and nice to look at but a little frustrating to use.
