MGGZXR ZUNKOM Effectrode PC-2A Photo-Optical Tube Compressor

I finally found a great-sounding compressor that I can use live. I play bass, and all the small, stomp box style, and otherwise giggable compressors I've tried just don't sound very good - even the bass-specific ones. I end up switching them off. But I love the compression sound I get at recording studios - that nice, "coiffed" bass sound that comes with a touch of quality compression. I just could never get anything close to "that" sound live. And I certainly don't want to lug an LA-2A or an 1176 to a gig.But this baby does it! It sounds fantastic! It gives that "coiffed" bass sound I crave, without sucking out the tone or the dynamics of my playing. It just tidies everything up nicely.Of course, if you want to really squash it, it does that too and sounds really good, but I use a moderate setting and it gets a good professional studio sound but live. Expensive, but it's freakin' great!

Best compressor I've owned. Very low noise. Would highly recommend. no noticeable swamping on higher compression levels. Worth the relatively high price.
