Don't waste your money on this!
I had considered getting the trilogy for my mother-in-law for Christmas. As I already watch Emmerdale, I got the 3 books on Kindle, both for something to read myself and to see if she'd enjoy it.I don't know how the writer can look people in the eye, especially after expecting people to pay that much!In all 3 books, grammar & syntax were atrocious. That sometimes happens with Kindle books, but there were far too many errors.Especially in the third book. How on earth can you get a character's name wrong that played such a pivotal role in the first two book? Not just 1, but 2 characters? Then you introduce another character in this book & get her name wrong when the telegram confirming her death arrives? I won't even mention the dog, who by the time of book 3 must be what? 25? Long lived dog!I feel such a mug for getting these Kindle books.Thankfully I didn't (and won't!) be getting the ridiculously priced print versions for my mother in law.If these books were one of those 99p Kindle books, I might possibly understand. But this is quite obviously a Christmas scam.

A lovely book to be enjoyed
This is book three in the series from the author and enjoyed both the others so was aching to read this as we go back in time to WW2 1940. As we join the sugden family on emmerdale farm. Jacob and Edward draw straws one stays to run the farm one goes to serve for his country. Annie Pearson isn't happy Edward is joining the navy excited to be going but promised to marry her on his returned he's aching to see a bit of the world and this is his chance. Beckindale is filling up with evacuees and Meg Warcup who runs the local school also takes in brother and sister Stan and Ruby Dubbs from Hull. I found this book so enjoyable to get into. As the community in the village pull together. It's such an emotional time for all to get use to. With added characters to love or hate. Brilliant book

A fascinating and well thought out series
What a wonderful series I have just read all three books. They are thought provoking and deeply sensitively written. The characters are so believable down to earth real Yorkshire.

A page turner.
An excellent read! A page turner! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a saga, even if you're not an Emmerdale fan I'm sure you will enjoy this book. One of a series of five books. I hope there will be more.
