Seems to be a pirated copy
I love the book and everything Sherri puts out! My only problem is that there are no page numbers in the content page out in the referenced pages. I contacted Sherri and she said it looks like the copy that is done up before the final printing. She suspects that someone may have pirated it.

Completely Enchanting
Sherri McConnell reminds us that quilts are not just about cleverly constructed blocks or flowing lines of quilting stitches. In Fresh Family Traditions, it's the fabrics themselves that step forward to be noticed. White space sets off the carefully selected fabric prints, framing them for their due admiration. The eye will linger and the fabric lover will start searching for that - and it has to be THAT - print. (Warning: there WILL be shopping ...)There are 18 projects, including 3 pillows and 1 table runner that are based on a larger quilt pattern. Some templates and the occasional Y-seam are required. No "special" rulers are needed beyond a basic 6x12-inch or 8x24-inch ruler WITH eighth-inch markings. (I also regularly use an 8-inch Bias Square. It's indispensable for both cutting and sizing up small blocks or block segments.) A small rotary cutter will be helpful for cutting fabrics from curved templates. Tips are plentiful without being distracting. The smallest quilt is "Kitchen Sink" at 30x34 inches; it's the jaunty hexagon/Tumbling Block quilt featured as the cover's backdrop. The largest is "Sassy" at 70.5x82.5 inches. It's basically a 3-step Courthouse Step patch, with an enlarged first step that nicely outlines a favorite print. Many of the quilts are borderless, and all are brightly invigorating. Some, such as "Indian Summer" (an Album Block with punchy jewel tones) incorporate expanses of white background for quilting. There's a wide range of fabric themes used here, including mods, florals, and solids. Nearly all lines are identified, with an abundance of Moda and a smattering of Riley Blake, Rowan/Westminster, and others. These fresh prints are what update the traditional blocks McConnell has chosen, such as Dresden Plate, Bear Paw, Variable Star, Log Cabin, and Rail Fence.McConnell personalizes the book throughout, sharing how some of the quilts came about and how she derived their names. Three "inspiration" sections are interleaved among the projects, including 2 pages showing her own home studio. Homage is paid to her grandmothers, who clearly were talented not just at quilting but passing along the love of it.Very nice, and highly recommended for all skill levels.

if not my favorite, quilt books
Usually when I buy a quilt book I find 2 or 3 quilts that I actually want to make. I literally want to make almost every quilt in this book! It is one of, if not my favorite, quilt books! If you're looking for just a sweet, nostalgic book of patterns then this is for you. There is definitely room for you to add some modern style but I would say the emphasis is on traditional patterns. I love the traditional quilts. These will remind you of quilts you've seen before in vintage quilts or maybe even some that were made by your family members in the past. It's worth the buy 100%

So Much to Love!
It's like being in a candy shop and not knowing what to choose first! I've bookmarked so many pages of Fresh Family Traditions and I know I'll be sewing quilts from her patterns for some time. I really enjoyed reading how the quilts were inspired by her grandmothers and great grandmother's quilts. Sherri's use of fabrics and design is wonderful and as other reviewers have noted: fabric shopping will be sure to follow after you lay your eyes on all these beautiful photos!

Advanced Reading Copy
I like the patterns that this book has to offer. However, I didn’t understand that this book is an Advanced Reading Copy. They did not use top quality paper or printing ink. Because I was planning on giving it as a gift, I will probably return the item.
