Backscatter FLIP4 Three Filter Kit with Shallow, Dive and Deep Filters

Great construction, fits securely to the gopro.If youre using this, than you are probably under water, there is a huge flaw with the design of this. I ended up removing one of the filters (which is easy) and just using one attached to the bracket.So youre using this under water, and what happens to a loose paddle shape under water when its exposed to any type of current? It will move. So you have one filter securely latched over the lens while the other one flops around and intrudes on your shot if you slightly pull back your camera, since the open flap will catch the water and move foreword.Before I dive I pick the filter that will cover the depth I will mostly be at.The color shades aren't drastically different, and a red filter will help at any depth compared to no filter at all.Getting a single lens cover at a fraction of the price will work better. in my opinion

I purchased the three filter kit for my GoPro Hero 4 black and tested it on a dive trip to the Socorro Islands. The neoprene carry case was a nice included surprise and contained hex tools for both the filter mounts and kit mount screws. Parts seem manufactured very well, the kit is easily assembled, and it mounts easily and securely to the GoPro. Initially, I liked having the option of mounting two filters at once and switched between the dive and deep filters following manufacturer guidelines, but the deep filter turned out to be too dark and red even at depths over 100 feet, and often the extra filter would flip inward even from the locked position and obstruct the frame. The former issue may be conditions dependent, but the latter is not. Since I have the GoPro mounted on a triple clamp with the focus light for my photography rig, the extra filter was a bit cumbersome anyway, so I easily removed it and now keep only one filter mounted. So far, though, I'd say the dive filter does its job well. Remember to wipe any trapped air bubbles out from between the lens and filter before filming.

Works very well. I have used it twice now and I like how the filters stay in place over the lens or pushed back out of the way. The allen wrenches it comes with dont fit in the allen screws perfectly so im worried about stripping but so far so good. For any photos bellow 5 or or so feet you have to have something like this for color correction. My photos now have red color information, which allows me to work on them in post and really make them nice. When I took photos with my GoPro before, without the red filter, I got blue on blue images with no red color info. They look Ok but soooo blue. This is way better and gives you so much more to work with in post.

This is a nice mount for diving filters for your GoPro, but be warned, the 50'+ filter is absolute crap unless you are diving in amazing clear water under full sunlight, but even then you should really only consider it for use in tandem with some strong lights. However, the two shallow water filters work very well and you have enough natural light to really take advantage of the color correction that they offer. Without external lights, the deep filter simply attenuates too much of what is left of the natural light and then accentuates other colors to an extreme -think regular blue fins on the boat look like fluorescent day-glow blue at 85 feet in front of the deep red filter.

Comes with 3 filters, but only attaches 2 at a time... So you have to plan for what you will need. I understand the feedback some user said about the top filter coming down into the camera's view, however I used an external light from Light & Motion and placed that in front of the top filter when not in use and had no problems. The system works well and returned much better image results when paired with a light. I would recommend to anyone.

good filter, easy to use. Mine stays put and does not flop around like I read in another review. Maybe it'll get floppier as it gets older, but right now it's sturdy. The filters seem to be the right color for our dive depths and water color (20-60 ft Bahamas). We're thinking of buying another filter for another camera, but this time the single version for simpicity

The filters worked well for improving photo clarity underwater, however, the top filter would come down when not being used, in the middle of taking a photo. There should be a way to snap it back into place or be able to tighten it so the filter is not moving up and down when not needed. This only occurred with the top filter, not the side filter.

High quality. I don't think there's anything better than the Flip4. If so, I want to know. Well made, durable. Quality product.
