Excellent Pitcher type water filter
I have had a previous model Brita pitcher type water filter model in use since 2015 that served us fine, and was still working, But I wanted a new water filter pitcher that filtered out heavy metals too. Using the heavy duty blue filter with this newer model does filter heavy metals as well as the usual materials. I researched many other water filter pitchers and read reviews on various websites before buying this one. The Brita pitcher filters extremely well and has improved design features over the old model. The water tastes better too. The length of time before filter changes is naturally dependent on how much you use it. Its digital “ time to change filter” on the lid works fine and is handy. As a newer model, it fills easier and the the fill line is obvious. As with any of these plastic water pitchers, they are not meant to endure abusive handling, so reasonable care is recommended. While simple to do, It is a a bit fussy to disassemble it for cleaning. Having used this Brita pitcher for 5 months now, I can highly recommend it, and I purchased it myself so my review is totally unbiased.

Finally a really good Brita pitcher.
Really love this pitcher.A bit of a back story: I had two other Brita pitchers before. Both were the same model, that I got from Costco sort of inexpensively. They were a bit smaller than this one, which was fine. But boy did they both leak like crazy. Not from the bottom or anything, but from the handle, which was hollow and had a hole at the top that water would always get into and then slowly leak out of the bottom. This one doesn't leak at all. It's big, so it's easy to fill my 8 cup electric tea kettle. The opening to the filter is set up in such a way that when you're pouring water inside, it never hits the filter directly, but slowly fills up around it - this way it filters better. Also, when you pour the water from the pitcher, even if some is still filtering, it's going to be stopped by the filtering container and not going to pour out with the filtered water. Can't think of any cons with this pitcher...

Saving Plastic and Water Tastes Great.
I really like how big the pitcher is. It has a button on it that syncs with the britta filter and tells you when to replace the filter. I had to hold down the button for about 45 seconds to set after replacement. It needed to process one whole filtering of water through the system before it changed to filter good. The top is kind of annoying. The flap needs like another strap. I find that it falls off quite easily and when putting in the fridge water sometimes comes back up at me. I wish it snapped in better and had an additional latch. As when I pour water usually spills out of it. I love the unique green color. I usually go through about two cases of water a week. So my goal is to save plastic. By using cups and reusable water bottles. I've already decreased my usage to one case a month. It fits perfectly in the fridge to keep water cold like I like. Cleaning it seems hard. I rinsed it out when I first got it. But haven't washed it yet. I'm curious if it is machine washable. The directions are super small and I can't read them without my glasses.

Great design. Perfect size. Comfortable handle. Very loose flip-top-lid.
After dropping (and breaking) my 15-year old Brita, I was on the hunt for a replacement. It was hard to find a Brita with solid reviews, but I settled on the "Grand - 10 Cup".- The size: This is bigger than my prior Brita (no idea of the model, sorry), and I was worried that it would be too large. That wasn't the case. It's big, but not too big, even for one-handed use. Compared to a gallon-jug of milk, the Brita is taller, equally as deep, but a little skinnier side-to-side.- The digital reminder: My button worked for two or three uses, but never worked after that. I would have preferred to NOT have the reminder anyways, so it wasn't a big deal to me.- The handle: The handle is very well designed. It is rubberized on the outside, and solid on the inside. It feels very comfortable to hold with one hand, even when full.- The pour-while-it-filters design: My prior Brita had a reservoir at the top that would gush unfiltered water over the top of the spout if you poured before filtration was complete. The Grand has a neat design where the water enters through a deep opening with the top of the lid (near the spout) containing the filtering water while the filtered water is poured. I wouldn't try it while it was completely full of unfiltered water, but this design would allow you to fill the empty Brita, and pour a glass of water while the rest of the chamber was still filtering. This is my favorite part of the design.I had a difficult time choosing a Brita based on the numerous bad reviews. I wanted to shed some light on my experience about the things that almost dissuaded me from buying the Grand.Complaints from other reviews - Confirmed:- The flip-up top: Most of the reviews complain that the flip-up top detaches too easily. I'm usually skeptical of complaints in reviews, but this one is spot-on. I haven't had the lid fall off while using it, but it is ridiculously easy to detach. To make a point, I was able to remove it with a one-finger grip of my pinky-finger. I'm worried about its ability to stay attached over the long term.Complaints from other reviews - Untrue:- The flip-up top: Another complaint I saw was that the flip-up top flips up while you pour. I haven't had that issue. Besides the easy detachment, the lid is otherwise solid. It's easy to flip up while filling, and I love not having to remove the entire lid to fill it.- The lid: Another common complaint was that the lid doesn't stay attached to the Brita body while pouring. I have also not had that problem. My lid seems to snap in place very well, and it seems solid.- The filter housing: Others have complained that the filter doesn't seat well, and that water gushes around the filter, without moving through the filter itself. I have only used Brita filters (and can't speak for 3rd party items), but the filter fit well for me. It does need to be pushed firmly in to place, but it seemed ordinary to me.I am happy with my purchase, and would buy this item again in the future. If Brita had a more secure flip-up top, this item would be 5-Stars.Update: 11/2019:The Brita has completely lived up to my expectations. My concern about the lid was unfounded. It has stayed attached, and I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Ordered it on Thursday and got it the very next morning. Works as it should.
Bought this to replace an eight year old pitcher which eventually broke. This Brita Large 10 Cup Grand Water Pitcher with Filter is terrific. Other reviews said it would leak when pouring and that the lid would not stay in place, well, I’ve not had any problems like that. The lid snaps into place with a decided click and water does not leak when pouring. I suppose it would leak if I overfilled it, but that would be silly. I like that the fill lid flips up for filling and there is a little shelf inside covering the filter to prevent fill water hitting directly on the filter. It’s a little thinner than the one it replaced which for me was perfect. I was told when I placed my order that it would take 3 to 4 days to receive it, but I ordered it on Thursday and got it the very next morning.
