The Complete Yes Minister & Yes, Prime Minister [DVD]

This one of the cleverest and funniest sitcoms ever. Both Paul Eddington and especially Nigel Hawthorne are actors of extraordinary talent. Great pity that both of them died some years later while still actively engaged in their caeers, Eddington not yet 70 and Hawthorne just past 70. The episode (4) of Yes Prime Minister where the arrogant Appleby/Hawthorne gets reigned in and put down has to be seen to be believed. Absolute top marks too, of course, for the writers Anthony Jay and Jonathan Lynn for providing such a wondeful vehicle for the actors. Wonderful supporting cast too.

This is such a magnificent series. I’ve watched the whole thing many times but I wanted the DVDs so I’d always have it available. It’s a region 2 disk so it won’t play on standard DVD players in the US but the warnings about that couldn’t be clearer - both on the web-site and on the packaging.First class.

Watched these two series online when I lived in the US awhile ago. Bought the series to share a good laugh with my husband and we have been enjoying it. ALL issues are pretty much still in discussion/debate publicly in democratic countries.

It took awhile for the package to arrive, but it was worth it.

Great UK comedy which is probably very reflective of the real machinations of government. I understand Margaret Thatcher very much enjoyed these productions.

Has every episode from all 5 seasons, including the christmas special Party Games.

A true classic. Would be nicer if they remastered the series to be better picture.

A must watch British comedy.

like so many purchases of old tv series, you find it isn't necessarily as good as you remember. i think alison graham in the radio times got it right when she said don't revisit. still funny, but not sufficiently to work my way through the whole of the series, didn't get beyond episode 4.

Wonderful satire which grows on you the more you get into the box set. Very witty and well worth watching more than once. The satire is a relevant today as it was then. Highly recommended
