The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (MCD) Hardcover – 26 May 2005

This is a very sturdy looking thick book with a washable cover, which I like. It is by no means any kind of easily portable book though, which is a shame, even if it was not claimed to be. If only the publishers could see their way clear to getting it reproduced as a Kindle ebook, with good links and cross references, including for us to be able to click on the references shown so that we could instantly see the texts themselves it would be an absolute marvel and tremendously helpful.It is spoilt a bit by its layout and close print as others have commented and likewise clearly has very good cross references to each verse of the Bible so that one can really study individual verses in real depth in relation to other verses in the Bible, which is really good. Those looking for a less exhaustive reference book though, may find that a Topical Concordance may be more helpful, ideally with the texts themselves alongside, or if in a Kindle ebook linked to an included Bible text.The other point about this book is that it is evidently a reproduction of a much older book. Although the type is quite sharp in mine, the language is more suited to the old King James version of the Bible, which will not always be so helpful to anyone wanting to use this in conjunction with a modern translation.I also see that this Amazon page claims that this book was the work or R A Torrey, but as far as I can see, there is no mention of his name on the actual cover, or inside, so I wonder if this was just an omission on the part of the publisher, or that Amazon has got it wrong. Whoever produced it though, it must have taken years to produce and I take my hat off to whoever took the trouble to do the work.As someone has pointed out, there appears to be an updated or similar modern version of this, so I will now go and have a look at that to see what I think. I hope that one is in Kindle ebook format, though, then that would be even more of a help, as hefty books put me off so much when I am trying to study things, especially if I don't have a suitable surface to put them on.A final point that strikes me, Kindle users may want to have two Kindles on the go, with versions of books like this that are on Kindle and do not have a full Bible text incorporated, so I hope that future publishers or even this one, will bear that difficulty in mind.

The contents of this book with its thousands of references I strongly recommend to all who wish to study the Bible. It contains an amazing amount of information and is an incredible reference tool. However, I am disappointed with the poor quality of paper since this has been purchased as a gift for a friend, and the print is too small for comfort for my own use. I am satisfied with the product generally, it's a strong, sturdy, good looking book and I have definitely received good value for money paid, but cannot say I am 100% delighted. This is a book that can be used regularly for a lifetime with its mine of information and an immense amount of work has gone into its compilation. Such an incredible work deserves to be printed on good quality paper and sold at a higher price if required. However, alternative prices at the time of purchase were far too high and unaffordable for me. The service received from this supplier was very good.

It's a great book for referencing and getting all themes in Bible together for easy reference, the only problem I had was in its presentation. As a father of little ones who has a huge sleep debt and not enough time on his hands on the best of days, I found it hard work looking up some references, the font is small and everything a bit too clustered, I know we should wrestle with the Word, but I'm sure this refers to the content of what Scripture says, not it's presentation! I'm open to correction...

Brilliant resource for Bible study. Even if your study Bible has a decent margin with notes, this book is still incredibly useful. It contains thousands of cross-references, pointing you to verses where similar language or concepts are used.Note: also available as an e-Sword plugin.

I purchased this book to help me find more information on Scriptures in a Bookto compare. I also enjoy R. A. Torrey writings.I would recommend this to a friend.

Wealth of knowledge is in this treasury of scripture knowledge. It enables one to have a better understanding of Bible text.
