The guard to keep you from slicing your fingers off while using it is defective so you can't use it so that is safe... It is very cheap and flimsy feeling and i really do not expect this to last more than a couple of uses. Save your money.

With all the holiday entertaining I do, I've made it appoint to purchase several different types of dicers, slicers, and knives to help make my preparation easier. Because I have a ridiculous amount of kitchen gadgets and utensils, I've been looking for something compact yet easy to set up when I need it.When Excellent Doer offered a discount in exchange for a review I was hoping this would be able to replace multiple tools in the kitchen. Because I already own a Mandoline Slicer which is very basic, I was thrilled to discover this one and all that it had to offer.I love how this holds all it's extras within the unit AND not to mention all the extras it comes with making it an all in one product for the kitchen. When shopping around, I knew I wanted one with a catch basin of some sort since my other slicer didn't have any and it always results in a mess on the counter. This one has perfect drawers to use depending on which portion of the gadget you are using. My hands have been destroyed over the years from using knives and unsafe slicers so I was thrilled to try something on the safe side of kitchen prep using the safety holder so I never get near the blade.Here is where my review drops to a 4 star: There is a pop up section which you can see in my pics for slicing strips as well. Because it does not completely drop below the devices surface, it catches most foods before they hit the blade you are trying to slice using. This causes your food to get mangled a bit on the bottom OR makes it difficult to make a smooth slice swipe (dangerous). The blades (not one but ALL) are extremely dull. My first slice attempt on a firm tomato cause it to get completely mashed in the process with no realistic slices to see. The 2nd attempt I went with jalapenos (again firm) and it destroyed them. After several attempts at different veges and fruits, I've determined this is a fail especially at $25. IF the company improved the blades this would be well worth the cost and more with everything it comes with.

I have been wanting a slicer for awhile. When this one showed up I was not impressed with the packaging, and it seemed cheaply made. I used it almost daily for a week and towards the end of the week I really ended up liking it! But let me tell you my first thoughts.First Use: Not impressed with the directions...it came with a sheet of paper that had pictures of the parts and what they did, but not how they work. My first time using it was a total disaster and I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up frustrated and went back to my normal way of chopping the veggies.Second Use: I began to figure out how the different tools work and I was more successful.Third Use: I had it down. I finally figured out how to use it through trial and error and was happy with the results. I like the drawers and how they kept the veggies in place.I also realized that the "cheaply" made plastic came in handy for cleaning out the drawers and pieces and parts. It was easy to clean, and wipe down.I would probably give this 3.5 stars if it let me, but I am giving it 4 stars as It does the job and cleans easy and is a good product. I would like to see it with clearer directions in the future though.I was given this product at a discounted rate for an honest review.

OMG this is an amazing mandoline slicer for every kitchen! I am always making a big mess when I am chopping up vegetables or slicing up fruits, with this one that has a storage container underneath, it's my catch all. The plastic could be a little thicker considering the amount of use it will get going back and forth, but it's still great quality for what you need to use it for. The blades are sharp! LOL -- yes, the blades are sharp so it will cut through your potatoes quick and easy. The peeler is excellent as well. Cuts down time spent on chopping veggies up in the kitchen! I received my mandoline slicer at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

My husband said he's very happy with this product, it's a simple one and that's all he wanted. We haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I will update once we do.

Flimsy, stains easily, too many parts. Handheld peeler is the best part. Invest money in a better quality slicer.

It does it's job but the cheese slicer could be sturdier. The rest of the slicer works great.

Slices everything perfectly.
