The Rising of the Shield Hero Volume 19 (The Rising of the Shield Hero Series: Light Novel) Paperback – April 27, 2021

Another volume, another battle with a Vanguard of the Waves. We get a new party member and get to see some pretty cool power ups. The revelations from this volume open things up quite a bit and I’m curious how things will play out from here.The one who assumed the name of God has to be devastatingly powerful of his minions are people as strong as Syne’s sister (someone Naofumi and co constantly struggle against). I wish we could learn a little more about the big bad, but the trickling info we’ve received isn’t too bad. Suspense and all that jazz. Hopefully I can get the next one soon so I can see what comes next.

This volume showed just how powerful and capable some of the shield hero's companions are. However, they still are not a match for the mysterious being pulling the strings with the waves. The shield hero has some new headaches during this volume, but there are some plotlines that come to a decent if not predictable resolution. The next volume should be packed with the consequences from what has happened in the other world.

I’ve now read books 6-19 and I can’t wait till number 20 comes out. I’ll be reading 1-5 to check for skipped content that the anime didn’t cover. Really easy to read, and the villains never end. Haha

The light novek series differs from the web novel on some points but it's still a very nice read. I can't wait for the next volume
