You'll see in the reviews that this particular version of this charger has a tendency of melting the plug and potentially causing major damage to your vehicle. I saw these reviews after using this charger for about 12 months and my wife noticed a strong burning smell in the garage. Upon inspection it was the charger which had melted itself. Luckily no damage was done to the charging port on the vehicle. After reading the reviews I though I might be doomed. However, customer support was prompt and understanding even though I was slightly outside the coverage window. They shipped a replacement unit that was the 40A unit instead. Has been working smoothly. My current vehicle is not equipped to take advantage of the extra amperage, but it will be useful for future EV purchases.

I was initially very happy with it. I used a professional to install the correct plug in the garage. I used it daily and it worked flawlessly until it didn't. I plugged it in and my wife and decided to go out for dinner within the same hour I plugged it in. I came out to find smoke coming from the plug, at the connection to the car. The handle to the unit was so hot I could barely hold on to it to disconnect it from the car. It had gotten so hot the insulation on the unit melted into the port of the car. No idea what damage it did to my new car, the dealer will have to inspect it. I can only imagine what would have happened if we hadn't decided to go out to dinner. I suspect it would have caught on fire. To be clear, it was the unit that overheated and melted into the car. The car had nothing to do with the problem. Don't buy this unit. I'm outside the return period of course. Like I said, it worked great until it didn't.

our first mustart charger stopped working after 9 months or so it is within the 2 year warranty timeframe, so Mustart sent us a new charger! great customer service. its a little sticky to get the charger in/out but supposedly its a feature so its more secure.

I bought the 32Amp, N1450. It worked once and then stooped working. I emailed customer service and they were great. After providing them some details and a video verifying the problem, they got right back to me, said it was a known problem with the 50 amp circuit I had (I know nothing about electricity), and they had a replacement model that would work. They sent it to me promptly (MT-26A-N1430 model), no charge, and said I didn't even need to send back the first one. The second one is working perfectly. It charges about 3x faster than the trickle charge cable that came with my car (NIssan Leaf). Bottom line: there are some technical electrical issues involved in selecting the correct model charger, but customer service was great at sorting it out with me, and having the faster charger is a meaningful upgrade, worth the $300.

Worked fine for just about a year. Then it didn't. Outside the return and product support windows. I'll try contacting Mustart customer service, but I don't have high hopes. Gasoline isn't a lot more expensive if one of these lasts you a year, then becomes e-waste.Edit: Mustart customer support is actually terrific. Texted them, and they've offered to refund my purchase, against purchase of a new charger. Can't beat that. Let's see if it comes through....

This charger has worked well but I’ve noticed the charger part that goes into the car getting hot. Last night, I saw smoke when I unplugged it. I’m no longer using this because of the smoke

We bought this charger for a 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime and love it. Plug in to 220V outlet and it will fully charge the battery in 4 hours. After a few months of use our first one developed an issue but Mustart Customer service promptly replaced it after validating. We are pleased and feel it is a great value!
