I would say no after owning a few chin drive bikes. Get motorcycle chain lubricant.

having used tri-flo & on occasion a synthetic car lubricant (am-zoil), would this stand up to those?

Don't know if I can give you a real answer to your question. I've never used that product before so I can't make a comparison. All I can definitively state is that after many years of racing and sport cycling and using just about every lubricant made for bicycles out there, I have to say from the standpoint of convenience, ease of application and durability, the WD40 has become my go to lube in all weather.

We have 2 beach bikes. Are these available in larger sizes? 16 Oz at least?

This particular degreaser foams on contact, so you might find that you actually use a little bit less than if you are used to degreasing with a liquid degreaser. I don't seem to waste as much.
