I've been wanting to find additional sets of piercing studs because a) one of my ear piercings seems to have grown smaller due to constantly wearing wire earrings, and b) the backs always seem to fall off of "regular" studs. I've had one piercing stud in my ear forever and it's never been a problem; I wanted more of the same for the other piercings so I don't have to change them and/or worry about losing them.As others have stated, the posts are a bit thicker than normal studs, and the backing sort of locks in place so it doesn't come off. That's not to say you can't get them off - you certainly can with a little more pressure.The sets come in a clear bag, individually sealed and marked as "sterile." I pulled out a pair and put them directly in my ear and haven't had any problems (my ears get infected easily with lesser quality metals and even with frequent changing). So these are exactly what I was seeking, and I'm happy for the cute options and quality of the product.

Bought these for my 6 year old as she tend to get infected ears with anything but real gold - also her curly hair likes to pull the backings off generic studs - these earring solve both problems while being affordable and beautiful! The real gold keeps her ears healthy and the locking stud keeps the pressure off her ear lobe but also keeps the stud securely in place! They are also a little more difficult for her to remove which means fewer lost earrings and less fiddling with them in school! Love these!

I wear only studs in my ears and look all the time for new earrings. The prices online are just as high as in the stores. I need either gold or surgical post, otherwise my ears turn black. I was scrolling web sights and ended up at amazon and to my surprise I saw ear piercing studs for a much better price than I saw for studs I would buy at Walmart or any other place I looked . I figured that ear piercing studs are just as good as any other studded earrings. The ad said surgical post and they were actually gold as well, not gold filled or over laid, and they were so much cheaper. I was very happy and ordered. 6 pairs for less than $20.00, I couldn't buy them fast enough. I received my earrings within the week and couldn't be happier. My 50 year old piercings had gotten smaller through the years, making wearing certain earrings painful to wear if the posts were thick. I decided to get a few sets of ear piercing studs to stretch the openings. These did the trick and are well made. I had to put a bandaid on the tip of my finger in order to get the back off so I could change out the earrings. That’s not a negative for me, because that means I never have to worry about losing an earring because it fell out. The only thing I didn’t like about this particular set is the earring fronts stick out further than I like. They protrude out from the ear lobe, which makes turning them easy...but it makes them less attractive on the ear. So for a brand new piercing, where you’re needing to turn the earring a lot while it’s healing? These would be great.

After losing my original studs from getting my ears pierced at Claire's in the 90s, I finally found these, which are the exact same! Love that they are a larger post to keep the piercing holes open, and that they are non-irritating so that when I wear a pair of earrings that irritate my ears I can pop these in to let them heal without closing up. Also great if you haven't worn earrings in awhile and need to open the holes back up. They have the sharp piercing end, making them easy to insert for closed-down holes and came with extra backs.

I bought these earrings not knowing what to expect, they are very beautiful in person I love that they are hypoallergenic because my ears are sensitive to earrings and these work out great. I had to send them back due to my piercing holes not being in enough so they would not fit my ears right. This a great buy just did not work out for me.

I have worn the piercing studs (the gold star posts) in my second ear piercing as my regular go-to earrings for a long time. So much so that I wore them out and had to find replacements. I was lucky to find them not only in the gold color, but also silver, and in a variety of styles. Super happy that I found them and now have several choices or color and style. :-)
