ATTN: USA Purchasers!
I'm a Colin Morgan fan and 'had' to have this! I couldn't find it anywhere in the US but kept seeing references to reviews etc. I found it on AMAZON-UK. That DVD was released as a "Region 2" format DVD which does not play on DVD/BluRay machiens sold in the USA. (which explains why I couldn't find it!) I was able to view it using my computer and a program that works with a number of unusual formats. That said, it is a good movie about a man dealing with his own demons of insecurity. IMHO, Colin Morgan is one of the greatest actors in many, many years. He totally creates a new persona for each role he plays. The transformations are so complete, they are a study in themselves.

Don't Leave Just Because it's Odd
This is one of the most thought provoking movies I've seen in years. Reminds me of the new age movies made by the bohemian movie makers of the 50s, and Colin Morgan is perfect. I laughed out loud100 times, it never got old. Benjamin falls for Noah, his social behavior is so extreme he is going in 4 different directions every time he talks, the script is brilliant, you feel sorry for Benjamin but he changes his train of thought before he can screw up what he has gotten awkward. Phenix Brossard, as Noah, is the straight man in these scenes as well as Jack Rowan as Harry, I can only imagine what the talk was about between scenes, all three showed their acting prowess. This is not your average movie, requires you to stay with it and digest the situations, very funny and sad at the same time. Very talented Director and cast. Would like to see these actors in Shakspearian plays, they are visually very good in this field. I did Experimental Theatre in College, very much like that, tongue in cheek, humor.

Not an interesting movie
I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. And it never did. The movie lacks any dramatic tension (a fancy way of saying "there's no plot here.") The protagonist has difficulty in forming relationships. He hangs out with artists in various genres who also aren't very successful either at their careers or at forming relationships. Ho-hum! Beware of movies where the main character is a filmmaker! It does have a number of very attractive young men in it (no frontal nudity). And a cute cat.

Funny, sexy and terrific!
I found the film both touching and funny at times, but entertaining throughout. The performances are excellent and the director had a strong voices. This film was recommended to me months ago and I'm so glad it's now available in the United States. I'm so glad I watched.

Weird but sweet.
I almost didn't 'get' this movie AT ALL. But because I became such a big Colin Morgan fan from watching "Merlin" on Netflix, I wanted to see everything he did subsequently.Seeing this the first time, I really wasn't sure if I liked it all that much, but giving it another try the following evening again, I realized that it was a very fine work of conceptual cinematic art- something that almost went completely over my head.Morgan was charming as the lead character who never seems to be fully aware of what good fortune there really is in his life. Phenix Brossard plays the part of the young French classical/rock music student who brings his love to Benjamin, in spite of Ben's constant undermining of his own happiness. Brossard is the kind of actor who's beauty grows on you. And though Benjamin finds him "gorgeous" on first sight, it takes the viewer a little longer to appreciate how really handsome and appealing he is. PS, it appears that both actors play characters their own age, which is nice, since Morgan could still easily be playing 24 year-olds if he was cast in such rolls.

BRILLIANT portrayal of a basket case
Nothing predictable here. Really enjoyed this quirky and unusual Rom-Com. Nearly every major character is "weird" in their own special way. Everything flows smoothly and lead actor does a BRILLIANT job.I found the two pivotal scenes PURE GENIUS: 1.) Bathtub scene and 2.) closing scene It shows that once you shut up and get out of your own head; you can break through and LIVE!!LOVED THIS

Weird and wonderful!
A riotous and heady mix of psychology, philosophy, film, music, and cultural insights played against the background of a sweet and charming romance. An engaging, well-written script with excellent performances in an uplifting exploration of love, friendship, insecurity and the ultimate realization of what's truly important in life. Highly recommended!

Warm, funny, and totally lovable
Great acting, fun script, and a gentle romp through insecurity we all have but rarely get to see portrayed so adeptly.Oh, and Colin Morgan is fantastic!

Inarticulate.
This DVD was a waste of money. I like both Colin Morgan and Simon Amstell but found this incomprehensible. The dialogue, such as it was, didn't make any sense and, much of the time, was drowned out by the music. If Simon Amstell mixes with people like those depicted in the film - self-centred, pretentious pseuds - he might well be depressed! Save your money and read a good book.

Absolute tosh!
Myself and 5 friends started watching this travesty of a film. After 20m mins 3 had left. The remaining 3 gritted our teeth up to the catastrophically anticlimactic end. What a load of tosh! Simon Amstell shouldn't be allowed to direct ever again. Mumbled, direction less...just a waste it time!

No subtitles
I bought "Benjamin" because Colin Morgan is a very talented young actor, and anything in which he stars is a must. Unfortunately when I started to play the DVD I was dismayed to find there were no subtitles, unlike for "Merlin" and "The Living and the Dead" The film has very low light levels, and it is hard to make out what is going on for much of the time. It is not acceptable to fail to provide subtitles.

Boring zzzzzzzzzzz
Awful. Very poor leading characters who were mind numbingly boring. Shallow storyline and life is too short to watch such a poor film.

Little to laugh about
I really enjoyed Simon Amstell's TV series, stand up shows and chairing the Never Mind the Buzzcocks, so I was disappointed in this movie that had little to amuse. It just seemed a rather sad dysfunctional story.
