2021 Night Sky Almanac: A Month-by-Month Guide to North America's Skies from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Guide to the Night Sky)

Must have for planning observing the night sky in 2021
This is a nice, compact book (119 pages) which amazing color photos and graphics. While I am a fan of the much more detailed Observer’s Handbook, the info presented in this book is more concise and presented visually - which is perfect for someone new to the hobby like me!The front section presents great info regarding the basics (Measures, optics, Stars, Constellations, The Moon, The Sun, Planets, etc.)The second half of the book features “The Sky Month-by-Month” (I’ve included some of the July section as an example)I think this will likely be my go-to book for my 2021 observation planning!

excellent book
I wanted a book to tell me what are the interesting things to see in the night sky in 2021 and this book delivers it. Instead of accidentally discovering there is a meteor shower from my news feed, now I know exactly what to expect for the rest of the year and plan for the events!Quality of the book is excellent, this can definitely be some sort of reference library book. Good quality semi gloss paper and good binding.

Excellent reference for Canadian stargazers
I've been a member of the RASC, and a user of their Almanac, for well over forty years. Why keep buying the Almanac when it's basically the same thing year over year (except for special events)? Part of the reason is simply it's a connection back to my astronomy habit that spurs me to dig out the telescope each winter and spring to catch my favorite sights, and part is simple supporting RASC. The book shows you what's "up" each month, and highlights anything you should check out if time allows. If you are a regular starwatcher, you might find little new and exciting here, but if, like me, you tend to go in cycles with your observing, this yearly release triggers the passion anew.

Great book
Bought this as a gift for someone who loves to check out the beauty of the skies. He loved it. Information is very pertinent to the North American skies & looks forward to checking out all the upcoming months with his telescope.
