Great quality, but sticks.
The product is clearly of a great quality, and is simple to use, but I have found myself l having to use two hands to try and lock/unlock the lead. When your dog is running and it’s stuck on a short leash, it doesn’t make for a fun experience. However, it does what I ask of it, and it’s a long lead, so my dog is a happier. It’s also not a thin wire, so there’s less risk of it zipping back and hurting someone.

Good robust lead for stronger dogs.
I have tried countless leads over the years, unfortunately none have offered a good level of length for a stronger dog.I have a strong and somewhat boisterous labrador who is very energetic and lively on the lead.I came across this lead and was pleased to see it has a great overall retractable length and rated to 50kg.I have reserved judgement until I've used it a number of weeks and I am pleasantly surprised with it thus far.The lead it's self is of good construction, the fabric lead part its self looks quote narrow and flimsy but it is surprisingly strong and resilient. It has held my dog back many times when pulling, with no signs of fatigue or fraying. It retracts easily as the dog gets closer, so far I have no experienced any tangles, jamming or knotting; which makes the walking experience much more enjoyable. My only suggestion for improvement would be maybe a slightly different material on the handle. It's not the best of materials to hold on to (especially if wet) and the lead can move around a bit freely in hand.Perhaps a rubber with a good level of friction would be useful here. That said, all in all I am pleased with the purchase and would happily recommend.

Lead
Good Lead and good length. Just it gets suck with the lock once you hold it on for a while .

Lock feature inconsistent
This lead is easy to hold, the ribbon-type line glides in and out of it with ease.We have a reactive dog with bad recall and have really struggled with the lock feature, resulting in burnt hands and bruised legs. (Which we appreciate is not entirely down to the design of the lead, but also our dog's behaviour). We only use the lead in fields as a substitute to being off lead. I have had stretch leads in the past which have been simple- 'push little button forward to lock' 'push little button back to unlock.' We've noticed this lead's lock feature is backwards from others and will sometimes lock when you push the little button back. But not always! Hence having to grab the lead and pull our girl back in after struggling to lock it.

Okay for price
Used for a Staffordshire bull terrier puppy. Worked well up until reached 8 -9 months old then snapped. Dog is 20kg and getting into bad habits pulling. Would work well for better behaved dogs.

Rough around the edges but gets the job done
Good standard leash but on the budget side. It works, but there are niggles that can be annoying in use. The lock feature is pretty bad, locks on accident too easily. I use two leashes (the other is a higher quality one from petsathome), binding one to myself to make it hands-free and keeping this one in my hand. When the leashes overlap, this one stops retracting much more easily than the other, the mechanism isn't too strong leaving the leash extended at the slightest pressure from the friction of the other leash. It also does get stuck but only at the most extreme angles (while the more expensive leashes don't).Bottom line, if you can afford it then it would be worth getting a slightly better quality one, but as a backup or a secondary one, its not bad.

Well made. But a bit heavy
Bought the 8 meters for pup when down beach or somewhere more land where he can explore. But have to say I did find it a bit heavy in the hands but I do have arthritis in my hands but overall it’s a good lead
