Glad I own it
This book is very good! I used some of Farber’s techniques to work through some major transitions in my life. The practices seemed too simple at first, but they became powerful with practice. Very impressed! How far I can take this? 🤔I still use techniques in this book. So I highly recommend it. To me the value of the information in this book far outweighs any apparent flaws in the writing or style. I must admit that I was bored through about half the book. But persistence was rewarded as I pushed through the practical work about halfway through the book. Then a whole world of possibilities opened up to me as the information intersected with my other studies in Western Magick. The techniques helped me to solve problems and questions that were bothering me for years. So I thank you Mr. Farber 😎

Don't listen to bad reviews, this book is must have!
I was skeptical at first reading the reviews about how he has too many exercises. Ok, I must admit after reading at first and only 3 chapters in, having been instructed to do so many exercises, before even getting a chance to delve into that much content I was a little frustrated and ready to write this book off. But then the other part of me was saying, well you sure did learn a heck of a lot of new techniques and ways to make my magick more streamlined. As a Chaos practitioner, I will say this book is absolutely amazing for new and improved ways to get results and way more efficient. His zillion exercises are worth it, even if it takes forever to get through chapters.I recommend reading with an open mind, when you are ready to meditate or practice your magick regularly. And read on and do a few exercises. If you read on and see an exercise is more involved than you feel like doing, simply put it down, and get back to it later when you're in the right frame of mind. This book makes a lot of sense and helps bridge science with magick. Although I'm not knocking complex rituals that require a ton of items and furniture, if it's possible to get to the same mental state in a much easier streamlined way, than I'm going to use that method. So if you can relate to me and respect all of the more complex rituals, but feel you could get there another way, in a way that makes sense to you and your personal belief system, then get this book and perhaps a Chaos Magick book if you're not familiar with that practice.Reading this and Condense Chaos by Phil Hine is pretty cool because they talk about the same stuff but with different terms. Phile Hine is an acquired taste I must warn lol.Enjoy and happy manifesting!

MAGICKAL JAZZ
This might actually be one of my new favorites. Extremely well-written, and easily the most thought-provoking thing I've read in a while. The first few chapters gave me the impression that it was going to be a bit of a disappointment, but once it gets all the basics out of the way and moves into the advanced applications of this technique, it gets pretty exciting; Being a musician, I had always wanted to find a way to bring all the members of a band onto the same page on a very deep psychological level - tuning instruments is one thing, but how do you tune minds to each other? I'm not too keen on the full-blown ceremonial magick kind of operations that require so much preparation and solemn creepiness... In fact, I've always been kind of afraid to get into them. But the techniques described in this book are more like magickal jazz improv, and I think that sense of play and spontaneity should be a very important aspect of true magical work. The section near the end about "deep synchronicity" was incredibly intriguing as well, as that's always been one of my biggest interests. I highly recommend this one.

Great Read
It's perfect for experienced and inexperienced practitioners of magickal and for those with an interest in neuroscience. Most of the exercises can be done alone and the techniques are easy to implement and remember. This book gets four stars simply because near the end exercises are more group based and at the time I read this book originally this was somewhat of an inconvenience.

One of the best books on meditation.
I've returned to this book over and over during the years. It's a great primer on a variety of meditation techniques, combined with a deep understanding that 'magick' can be interpreted in many ways.

Still a solid read
I bought this book back in 2014. Read it. Did many of the exercises and then shelved it due to no fault of the book, but to my own scattered brain tendencies. Well, here it is 2019, and I found myself wondering about it so I pulled it off the shelf and started reading...that was a couple hours ago. I am loving it all over again and plan to work through the exercises again as well. Yes, it is a bit advanced...but to fault it for that would be like faulting a 300 level college text for being too advanced. If you aren't ready for it yet, Phil Farber has many other books in the same vein to warm up with.

I haven't read all of this book yet I am pretty much hoping to take bits and pieces and use what I might be comfortable with. Some of the ideas come off as a bit scary but that's just me. The I tro is very enticing I can read the intro now and get excited about it
