Will not fit Baytec barrel
This is a quality valve assembly but it would not fit the Baytec 55 gallon blue plastic water barrel that I recently purchased. The barrel has 12 threads per inch and this valve has 11 threads per inch. If you try to screw this into your Baytec barrel, you will totally ruin a $130 barrel. Luckily, when I couldn't get this valve started straight, I measured the threads on both items and found the difference. It may fit steel barrels and some other brand plastic barrels but not Baytec. Just throwing this out there so someone doesn't ruin their barrel.

Use lots of thread tape
The threads are not tapered so use lots of sealer or tape. Works great on a barrel.

Works great
I use chemical drums for my job and this came as a sweet surprise at ease of use after two expensive pumps had failed. Easy to install with just a switch of put my chemical bucket on its side and letting gravity due its job. After I take a bit out I pop an air hole in the top of the bucket and the flow is quicker then the industrial pumps it replaced

I needed to water plants on my remote property. This valve is solid and works well.

Good product but for metal barrels only to smaller for the plastic drums
