NÜÜD Samsung Galaxy S4 Waterproof Case - Retail Packaging - Black/Clear

I bought this case hoping all the negative reviews were wrong considering I have several family members who have purchased and been happy with Lifeproof cases. I am glad I did. Barring any shipping boo boo's, or just playing getting a lemon case, I think that you would be happy with it as well. I tested the case before I put it on my phone as per the directions and there was no water leakage. I have not had any issues with hearing or being heard by anyone on a phone call and the speaker still produces loud enough that I have not noticed any difference in volume. As far as the headphone jack goes, there was a jack extender with the case. I myself have a iPod and won't need to use it. I also have had no issues using the menu and back buttons, no they are not as easy to get to as it would be if no case was on but that doesn't bother me. And as far as screen protection, no case offers you fool-proof screen protection. Seriously, if your screen breaks with this case on, the screen would have broke with any case you could buy on the market because the phone landed HARD on the screen itself. I love this case so far and as I'm not planning on deep sea diving or throwing it off a cliff this case is awesome and I'm sad to see sooooo many people write such negative reviews. Maybe I'm just not picky, I don't know but this case will protect your phone from everyday use. No bungee jumping with the phone :)

I hear people complaining about the sound quality but that just is not true. It sounds maybe a little less great as when it is not in the case but for me it sounds still just as great. Just waiting for a call to test sound quality which I would expect to be the same as the main speaker. I love how it is nice and thin and yet also waterproof which is what I want more then drop protection because I have only dropped my galaxy s4 once in the months I have had it now. I very highly say it is so worth the money just to protect against the accidental spill and mess up that is bound to happen to everyone at some point. There is no reason you should not enjoy this case. Will update later if anything ever happens. Edit: I did a water test and it has failed. Water leaked in from somewhere and I don't know where as it seemed to be sealed up properly with everything in place how it should be. Glad I did not put it under water with my galaxy s4 in it because that would have really sucked. Will update later if anything else happens.

Has protected my phone from a lot of drops onto hard services in my life of miscellaneous construction/recreational outdoor adventure. Also I routinely take it into the shower to check the news in the morning. Wouldn't take it swimming, but why would you take your phone swimming? The key thing that sets this apart from other waterproof cases is the fact that the screen is not covered with a sheet of plastic that interferes with using it. I'm currently on my second Nuud case for my galaxy S4, because after a year of really hard use, the speaker membranes got really gunked up and I broke the little hinged port off that covers the bottom cable connection point. Why am I giving it a 5/5? Because I beat this case really hard over the course of a year and although it eventually fell apart, my phone survived unharmed. I think a year of my phone being near invincible is worth the cost.

Update 04/25/2014 Lifeproof replaced my case under warranty for the damaged charging port door. The bad news is that I'm having the same issue with the new case. The charging port cover has plastic hinges. They are not very robust. I have files another warranty claim with Lifeproof but no word yet whether or not they will replace it. ************************************************************************************************************************* I've been using my Lifeproof case about three months now. On the positive side, the case is very durable. It has very good "anti-skid" properties meaning it doesn't slip or slide on hard surfaces and provides solid grip without applying much hand pressure but still slides easily in and out of my pockets. I've dropped it a few times (by accident), and the case provides very good shock absorption (no phone damage). The case is not too bulky, and I really enjoy the direct access to the touch screen (I wasn't using a screen protector anyway). I have not had any problems with audio, hearing, or being heard on phone calls. On the negative side, the case interferes with the proximity/gesture sensor. That's why the screen blacks out when you make a phone call. If you have gesture controls enabled, you will notice that they don't work either (or work intermittently). I contacted LifeProof, and after providing the serial numbers for the case, I was provided a new replacement. The replacement had the same issue. After receiving my third replacement case, I determined that sensor issue must be a design limitation. The gesture sensor is too close to the ear piece. There isn't enough clearance for the case to seal the ear piece and leave the sensor clear (though it comes very close). But kudos to Lifeproof for being quick to respond to my complaint and providing no hassle replacement (though I ultimately kept the original case). I am having a different issue. The hinged piece which snaps over the charging port is damaged. Looks like a small piece broke off. The snap cover is popping off the hinge piece. Contacted LifeProof to determine if it's eligible for replacement. Overall, this is a very good (almost excellent) phone case albeit with some trade offs. If you expose your phone to the elements (wind, rain, etc.), are active in outdoor sports, work in an industrial or military setting, or you just have bad luck dropping your phone, then the Lifeproof case is a good choice despite issues such as the gesture sensor. I learned very quickly to work around the sensor issue, and while it is annoying the other benefits more than make up for the difference.

This case is amazing, I got it for my son and he is not the caring boy when it comes to phones, he dropped it several times and it is keeping up very well. Also he dropped it when taking a shower and it was perfectly fine.I would recommend this case. Thanks,

i never tested it for waterproofness becuase i only got it because im always dropping my phone. works great in that case!

This is the second case of this type that I have used on my S4 phone. The first one had the door at the bottom rip off and then a year later the button on the side fell out and the plastic deteriorated. The worst thing about the case are the echos. I bought the same case again because I knew what I was getting, my phone was clean, and I could buy several of these for the price of a different one.

Does just as described. Speaker and microphone are stiffled because of the watertight design. Suggest only using this in situations where you require it and have a commuter otter box or other same quality case for regular use. Still a fantastic buy for the price.

Nice phone cover. Good price but after two months of use the cover where you plug in the charger has snapped off.
