RAM 1.5" Ball Marine Electronic Rugged Use Mount for Lowrance Elite-5 Mark-5 Hook-5 Elite 7 Ti Fishfinders

This is my second one and both grip my Lowrance solid and hold it in place. I had to get my own stainless steel screws though.

Because the mounting is made for the Lowrance unit It helps to eliminate the need for a separate mounting bracket. and allows for easy off and on. The fact that you have nearly unlimited positions you can move the screen to is very nice. I can swivel it and see the screen from almost anywhere in the boat. It is well made and has never loosened up even in some rougher water.

I bought this to mount my Elite 5M (no fish finder) to my Sea Doo Speedster. I went with the larger, 1.5 mount, to absorb more shock and abuse. It seems solid and well built. RAM seems to have a great reputation so I am sure I am going to be happy vs. using imitation junk. I did notice the issue, as many others have complained about, the shaft above the ball (seriously) is missing the rubber - as someone mentioned - it looks like it was mauled with a pair of Vise-Grip post-production. Seems kind of add. It shouldnt effect anything though. Just a cosmetic blemish - but pretty blatant.

I'm using this with a Lowrance sonar unit on my kayak. It's a great design and super durable. My one gripe is that on the upper ball unit...the one that attaches to the unit... there's a major scraping/scratches on the neck portion of it. The scratches extend thru the paint and into the metal. It appears that someone at the factory takes a vice grips, clamps it on the neck, and spins it around until the metal is scratched and gouged. Very odd.

Really nice, high quality product. The materials are very high quality and feel solid. I’m not sure where the complaints are coming from that it doesn’t snap in to your fish finder properly because it fits like a glove in my elite TI. Highly recommend pulling the trigger on this mount, you won’t be disappointed!!

Works perfect. I swapped the bottom ball out for a track mount ball, and used the flange type that comes with this, to mount the Ram transducer arm. The lowrance adapter does not click in as mentioned in the comments, but honestly neither did my factory lowrance base either.. So far it has not come loose on me. Im very pleased with it.

Very sturdy no issues coming loose when travelling on rough water and easy to adjust so I can see the screen better on bright sunny days. There are better but not for this price.
