Beginning as a house brand in the 1930's for Montgomery Ward, Recording King acoustic guitars and banjos were developed during the Golden Age of musical craftsmanship, a period that resulted in some of the most well-respected and sought-after fretted acoustic instruments available. Building on this piece of American history, our Recording King instruments uphold the name's historic legacy using vintage designs and hand-assembled parts. Our instruments have the look, feel and sound of the classic models with impeccable workmanship and enhancements for contemporary players. All Recording King models are made for the long-term - you can hand a Recording King instrument down from generation to generation. This is what we strive for in each handmade model. The ROM-06-CFE4 has a 14-fret OM-style body with a treble side cutaway and Fishman pickup, making it a perfect stage-ready acoustic guitar. Crafted by the same artisans that build our best-selling 12-fret guitars, but with low-key ornamentation, the ROM-06 was built for players looking for an affordable OM-style model with upper fret access and a pickup. The ROM-06 has the clarity perfect for performance, as the small body has a dreadnought scale length of 25.4" giving it the volume and punch players want in front of a crowd. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top with hand-scalloped bracing and mahogany back and sides, the ROM-06 feels extremely comfortable under the hands due to its size and 1-11/16" nut width. The Fishman 4-band pickup has both a tuner and a phase control to make adjusting you live sound a snap, and the LED tuner is easy to see under stage lights, or in the dark. The unadorned Recording King headstock and tortoise body binding give this guitar the perfect touch of class for either a concert or a beach party.
