Modularity that I want and nicely made
I really love these lights. I bought this set, plus a larger set of the longer panels NEW Designer Series SIX 18" COOL WHITE LED Panels, 2 power supplies, 2 dimmers and I'm using them in three locations around my house, but with a mixture of short (10") and long (18") panels in each place. The best part about this system, in my opinion, is the modularity. You can mix and match COOL vs WARM, 10" or 18" panels, and presumably "designer" (these have a plastic deflector/cover over the LEDS) or the basic uncovered strips. I bought a couple of shorter connector cords, too, and I mixed and matched all the bits from my few purchases to accomplish what I wanted. It is worth noting that, if you buy these directly from the maker's site, you can specify different cord lengths than those offered by default in the Amazon kits. I thought about going that route, but I opted to first purchase from a known entity (Amazon) that I already trust. If I go back for more, I may well order direct from the manufacturer. Unlike some reviewers, I totally understand that it costs almost as much to make a short cord as a long one, so I'm not going to rant about the relatively high cost of the four inch connector cord that I wanted 4" (Four Inch) Interconnect Cable for use with Inspired LED Lighting Systems to complement the parts I got in my two kits. (I do wish it had been cheaper, but I think the price is fair considering the scale of production.)I'm using these in two rooms with a motion sensor plug Westek MLC4BC Indoor Plug-In Motion Activated Light Control and it is simply plugged in at the third location. I would prefer a light sensor/motion sensor combo plug, but this is adequate for now. Eventually, I may have the electrician hard-wire the kitchen location. For right now, I've got the energy efficient lighting that I wanted in exactly the locations I desired, and I was THRILLED to have the option to purchase parts as I did. When I remodeled my kitchen in 2007, I spent more for two LED strips than I did this time for nine strips of higher quality with more LEDs. The time has come for the masses to at least give LED lights a try. Prices are now quite fair.Personally, I am a huge fan of widely dispersed light at a fairly low level of lumens. (That means I like the light level low, but spread out, so everything is visible but nothing is bright.) These products work GREAT for my purposes. My husband prefers a much brighter light source... almost everywhere! While he wouldn't use LED strips in as many locations as I prefer them, even he admits that they are working great in our new kitchen. We have a five foot wide industrial hood. As "cool" and high end as this thing is... it had no built in task light when we moved in. With the kitchen overhead lights on, your shadow landed on the stove. I used two 10" strips and three 18" strips to add even illumination along the rolled metal edge of the hood, bringing the power cord down one side to a nearby outlet. Now we can clearly see what we are cooking. While my husband might wish this were a 400 Watt halogen fixture, he is happier to have this much light than no light at all.I like COOL white light, so that is what I got. I haven't tried Inspired LED's WARM white color to offer a comparison. If money were no object, I would have already ordered these to install in my closet, under the toe kick in every bathroom, under the toe kick in the kitchen, and up on a ledge we have in a light-well beneath a skylight... I will get those eventually, but the kitchen is probably the ideal place for most consumers to start. It is amazing what a few strips of these little lights can do in a small, dark kitchen. I speak from experience on that!

Really bright and really easy to install
I got these for undercabinet lighting in my horribly lit kitchen, and I LOVE them. It comes with a bunch of brackets with screws to attach them, but honestly that was way too complicated and my cabinets couldn't support a screw in the bottom. The sticky pads that are already on the lights are really good-way better than the last set of lights i put under there. It works because they are so light weight. Once or twice I needed to change the position of the light and I pulled the light down. It was really hard and it ripped off the sticky pad. I just happened to have the little Velcro stick on squares which I used to stick them under the cabinet and it worked like a charm. Now I can take them down any time I need to. I ordered 3 more for the rest of the kitchen and am looking around for more places to put these like my closets.

Best LED accent lighting I have found.
I've bought about 3 sets of LED kits from Inspired LED. I tried one other from Lamps Plus and it wasn't good. The Inspired LED are a bit pricey but they are beautiful and easy to install. There is nothing better than cool white over granite counters.I use these under every cabinet in my kitchen (and even my microwave over range). I use them in my entertainment center, both in the bookcases on each side (towers) and I have two on the top on a switch that provides ambient light off the ceiling. I also installed two under the shelf behind my monitors and one under top (over my keyboard tray) on my new desk. I can sit (in the dark) yet easily read my keyboard and find things on my desktop while working.I leave all of my LEDs on 24 x 7 (except those two on top pointing up of entertainment center as these are my on/off lights when I walk in front door), and they cost very little to run, generate no heat, do not disrupt my vision like fluorescent light does.

Beautifully Transforms a Room.
We've admired these lights in various coves and china cabinets at our daughters house for a couple years. These lights transform a lovely area into a place of beauty ~ warmth and inspiration. Our daughter says they've not had any kind of issues ~ they've been on continually for two years. They occasionally use the dimmer switch to change light settings ~ with no issues there. For Christmas 2012 ~ we received this Designer Series 18" 3 pack. These lights are so easy to install ~ and there's a size available to fit just about any-where.We love this lighting ~ it adds so much ambiance to a room.We installed this set above our kitchen cabinets ~ which transformed our display of antique china from nice ~to noticeable ~ beautiful ~ and set off the entire room ~ giving it additional warmth and atmosphere. The dimmer switch includes four settings & also on/off.The brightest setting of the switch is the same full brightness the light would be ~ with-out any switch.Up to 24 light panels can be powered by one power supply & the panels can be mixed or matched. These LED lights are expected to last over ten years.
