Best knife for value - true Japanese craftmaship
This knife is the real deal, after constant use for over nine months it is still very sharp and has no blemishes. I keep it clean and dry, it is a perfect blend of balance, sharpness and design - it is light to hold and very versatile. I use it for all types of food preparation and it's the only knife I use to cut tomatoes without having to push too hard. I use it for cutting all types of vegetables, meats, fruits, I use it for fine cutting and trimming such as garlic, as well as when I want to cut onions and mushrooms very thin.

Incredibly sharp, and its a Shun!
Well, it's a Shun. My wife is a chef and I have gradually been buying her Shun knives for home use. This is NOT an everyday, beat up on knife. Shun knives ARE more fragile than the typical bulk brand knives but are extremely sharp and can be sharpened to retain that razor edge with little effort.

Easy to Use
Super comfortable handle (for right-hand use, at least), and I love the point for getting even strips of things like bell pepper. The flat surface is great for things you want to hold onto the knife, versus falling / rolling away. I've got a textured chefs knife for better release / rolling cuts. This thing is an absolute breeze for mincing garlic, too!

Great all around performer
This is effectively a wider/ slightly longer 6.5 inch chef knife, very similar performance to a santoku as well. Super light weight, great for vegetables, good for proteins. I like to use it for mincing herbs and scooping vegetables off of a cutting board into a pan or onto a plate. Pair it with an 8 inch chef knife and a paring knife and you won’t need any other kind of knife.

SHUN makes GREAT Knives!
Their knives may be a little pricy, but they are great knives. They arrive crazy sharp, and are easy to sharpen and maintain. I love my SHUN knives

Sharp. Precise. Great to hold.
Shun is one of my favourite knives. I have a few in their collection. Lovely to use. SHARP. Extremely well built. Highly recommend. Are they a bit pricey, sure, but you are inventing in a knife you will have for a long long time. Well worth the investment if cooking is your passion.
