Great but...
So, when you are growing potatoes they must grow in TOTAL DARKNESS and can become toxic if light reaches them. Ever get potatoes with green skins? It isn't because they aren't fully ripe but because light got to them. Look it up! Anyway, these side harvest "windows are CLEAR and let light in. I spray painted mine. But this is my only complaint...

Great results, nice and deep!
Attaching photos of carrots and potatoes I am growing in the bags. I grew up on a farm but now have a home with limited patio space and wanted fresh veggies. These bags are nice and deep, so the plants really thrive. I have them on a back patio and did not expect the amazing results I am getting. The potato plant is so big I cannot fit it all in one photo! Have only used them a few months, so I will update on reusability. The handles are nice and sturdy to move them around, and the cloth material has been holding up well over 8 months of use, probably because they drain so nicely just through the fabric. I only wish I had purchased more than 6 when they were half the price last fall. I definitely recommend them for growing deep rooted items in a small patio or porch space!

A See-Thru Window to Watch Potatoes Grow May Not be such a Great Idea
I like the quality of these bags, especially because there are access flaps on both sides of the bag. But after receiving them, I realized there is no way to "close" the see-thru window. When potatoes are exposed to light, they produce a toxin called solanine, a glycoalkaloid that is produced by the potato to protect it from insects and bacteria. Ingestion of solanine can lead to health effects that can be dangerous, depending on how much is ingested. Even small amounts can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort. But I love the idea of being able to "take a peek" at the progress of the potatoes' growth, without having to actually open the access flap. I'm going to take a piece of heavy green polyester fabric and tape it over the window with green ductape (using a much bigger piece on the top of the flap than the bottom), to keep the window covered until I want to look through it. I'm hoping that this little "Rube Goldberg" fix will give me the best of both worlds -- a viewing window, with a secondary protective flap.Gee. Maybe someone should actually manufacture a product like this.I would certainly buy it.But I probably won't be buying these again.

A great alternative to plastic containers
We grow most of our vegetables in raised beds or containers due to poor soil and limited planting space. The bags take a lot of soil, so be sure to put them where you want them; once they’re filled, they’re too heavy to move! So far, our vegetables seem to be growing much better in the bags than in the big plastic pots we’ve used in the past. I recommend them as an affordable alternative to pots or raised beds.

Easiest way I’ve found to plant vegetables
I’d never heard of these bags until they popped up in an ad one day. They looked perfect for growing potatoes and other veggies. So far the plants are growing very well and look very healthy. We had a strong rain and in the bottom third of the bag, the soil is still moist but the roots aren’t being drowned, which I have had with other types of container gardens. I highly recommend for folks who are thinking about container gardening.

Please open immediately and inspect stitching!
I am opening these in prep for Spring planting but purchased during prior Fall. A few require reinforced stitching along the seams, which I am happily making and marching forward!

Very sturdy and strong! Perfect size!
Product arrived very quickly, thank you BNI. So, I haven't used them yet but I have gone over each one. The seams are very strong, the handles are quite sturdy, the vecro is strong and the bags are going to be very roomy for the potatoes I'm going to plant. Exactly what I was looķing for to plant on my front enclosed porch! I may even start one now in the house by a sunny window.

Leaks from the sides
Nice and portable, easy to store. Currently growing potatoes just fine. Main gripe is that it leaks. Not from the bottom for drainage, but from the sides as I’m watering. The bags are not waterproofed, so when water meets the side of the bag it just leaks through the sides, sometimes without soaking inti the soil properly.

Good enough, felt fabric
They’re fine. Potatoes are growing. I don’t know about seeing through the panes on the side, though. Those seem a bit silly and unnecessary
