The secret to the system is the patented pre stamped measurements on each bracket, which allow the builder to screw the brackets correctly into the wood stringer the first time and without constant measuring or marking. The brackets meet all state building codes and accommodate all rises and runs. The brackets are made from 16 gauge G 185 hot dipped galvanized steel and can be used inside or outside. The brackets can be used with all types of wood, including treated and artificial wood. The GoPro system saves wood, you can use a 2 x 8 or even a 2 x 6 instead of a 2 x 12. There is minimal cutting of wood, or multiple measuring and marking as you screw in the premarked brackets. It is virtually mistake proof.
