2020 Apple iMac with Retina 5K Display (27-inch, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD Storage)

I am not a fan of Apple, but I have a friend who is. He is in a wheelchair and confined to his house. His computer is how he orders food and other needs, as well as how he communicates. When his old Apple stopped working (the sound card failed -- and the machine was too old for upgrades) I bought this computer for his Christmas present. While it took him a while to set it up (pass words and security for non-tech people seems like a nightmare to me (my experience is that Windows is much easier to set up), my friend loves his computer -- the screen is impressive.

Just purchased the refurbished Apple 2020 iMac with Retina 5K Display (27-inch, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD Storage) which was sold not by Amazon, but by 6th Avenue Electronics in New Jersey. Although next day Amazon Prime delivery was not available since it was sold by a seller outside Amazon's control, the shipment was received within 48 hours and a signature was required by FedEx. Although the package was not an original Apple box, the shipping container used by 6th Avenue Electronics was very secure.The computer itself was EXACTLY as described and except for some very minor scratches, the computer looked brand new. The computer also came with new original Magic keyboard, Magic mouse2 and USB cable. Additionally, the computer came with the original Apple one year limited warranty with the option to purchase Applecare within 60 days of purchase. Although I have only used this computer for a week, every function operates smoothly without any difficulty. The only suggestion I can provide in order to improve the performance of this computer is to purchase a Timetec 32GB KIT(2x16GB) Compatible for Apple DDR4 2666MHz / 2667MHz for Mid 2020 iMac (20,1/20,2) / Mid 2019 iMac (19,1) 27-inch w/Retina 5K, Late 2018 Mac Mini (8,1) PC4-21333 /PC4-21300 MAC RAM additional ram for under $55 from Amazon which significantly improves performance, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MH3KHLY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1. Installation of the additional ram is VERY simple via the rear open port. Suggestion - There are four ram spots. Place the original 4GB x2 already in your system in slot # 1 and slot # 2 and add the additional 2x16GB in slot # 3 and slot # 4. Ram slot # 1 is the top slot.I am very satisfied with my purchase and honestly suggest that anyone interested in purchasing a refurbished iMac for less than half the cost of a new system, seriously consider the purchase of this particular system and from this particular reseller.

This is iMac 27 inch 2020 model with 5K display, and I upgrade the memory from 8GB to 128 GB, but looks I do not need such big memory for routine work. Anyway, the big the better.The display is brilliant, and the screen size is big enough to read ebook. My daughter used iPad to read ebooks, but the font size is a little small especially when two pages on one screen, so after I bought this 27 inch model, I created an account for her to share this computer, and she loves it so much!I also use this iMac to work from home, and the computing performance as well as the large screen is better than the laptop which makes work more efficient.In general, this is great product for home whatever for study, work or entertainment.

I've been using a late model 2013 iMac for a few years and have enjoyed it for music production. It still runs great with no problems at all (just sold it) but when I saw the new iMac's out I decided to upgrade for the extra horsepower and the ability to process music faster while using plugins in the DAW. After I received it from Amazon, I ordered more RAM for it. Sadly my first purchase of Samsung RAM didn't work no matter the configurations I tried. I returned that RAM and then bought Timetec Hynix RAM which worked the first try. The new iMac runs exceptionally well and doesn't glitch at all while using the recording studio software Logic Pro X and the plugins I use. Also, I wanted to buy an Intel CPU iMac to use Bootcamp to install Windows and have both platforms on one machine. The installation works like a dream and no problems using programs in each operating system. I appreciate the extra power and how smooth it works. I did buy the core I7 CPU and it's fast!! I know some people want to wait for a design refresh but I actually like the looks of the design so that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I did buy a software fan program to help keep it cool which works well enough. I'm satisfied with it and am glad I made the purchase. Thank you Amazon and Apple for the seamless buying experience!!

I bought it for my husband who does many zoom calls and keeps spreadsheets of our investments and finances. He’s a coach for people who are executives of nonprofit organizations. When he retired he needed activities to keep him sharp and busy. This computer works well for him and in his retirement he’s able to stay on top of financial trends and keeps an accounting of our finances. Before he retired he was a stock broker, an accountant as well as a banker during the days when banks were constantly being bought out. So he’s my financial guru. I was a social sciences major with no interest in business so he is a godsend for me. And the people he coaches are blessed to have him as an advisor.
