Bought cheaper version before, wasted my money. Our cockapoo becomes really distressed by the noise of the bird scarer used by the local farmer. This makes a huge difference. She looks happier and is definitely more settled.

Calmer since using the thunder shirt

My rescue mix (Medium size shepherd type) was previously abused so she has a lot of nervousness to get over, but the one thing I've struggled the most with is her fear of noises- mostly thunder and fireworks. I've seen her stand shaking and it breaks my heart so I thought I'd I've this a go. Sizing is always difficult becuase she's not actually that tall or long, but she's got quite a large rib-cage. I measured her using the guide and the XL fits like a sock (form-fitting, but stretchy).She's not used to wearing clothes in general and when you reach over her she immediatley lays down to submit which makes putting this on her a bit difficult in itself. Thankfully it 's very stretchy so even when she's rolled on her side, laying on half of it, I'm able to get it around her to do up. She's also getting used to wearing her high-vis jacket at night so there's desensitisation to wearing clothes in general.Because of all the velcro it's quite noisy getting it on. Now this is probably only a problem because I have to re-adjust it once it's actually on her, but she doesn't like the noise and I try to make the 'putting it on' part as stressless as possible.Once it's actually on it of course makes no noise and I think it's helping. She hides less with it on, but remains kind of motionless at my side. I think that's her getting used to it because it doesn't restrict her movement at all. The instructions say to take it off every couple of hours just to check that it's not rubbing anywhere or anything like that and at that point I just keep it off her.Haven't tried to wash it yet, but I imagine it'll be fine as long as not too many fibres get stuck in the velcro.

Jumper it’s self is good quality but the stitching is VERY poor.Stitching came apart within one useWould send back but NEED it for an anxious dog so have fixed myself - yet to notice the help but giving it a few days to see if it helps

UPDATE: How do you know for sure this works? When your dog ASKS for it! She paws at a metal garbage can, near where her shirt is kept, and will keep pawing until she has her shirt!!!We have a rescue Aussie who was to be euthanized at 6 mths as she was "psychotic". She's come a massively long way, but loud noises and handling are still challenging.Not only does this help during fireworks and thunder, it has made a huge difference when clipping nails, or dealing with burrs in her ears, tail and leg fringes, and what we use I for most frequently! Who knew it was grooming aid!!!This is not a complaint, but a suggestion, would love the ability to add a "top coat" made from more durable material, for outdoor use. I worry the brush would damage it; at this price point, not something I'm willing to risk.Does it work, have to say yes, significant improvement, enough that I bought several more for our other rescues and found them useful for all sorts of anxiety/barking type issues. Is it a cure, no. Does it allow the dog to tolerate "more", absolutely.At the very least, try them, they are returnable if it's a fail for you. So far, its Aussie, MinPin, Frenchton and Pom approved!

Die Weste kam eben an sie passt meiner Hündin zwar aber zu ihrer Wirkung kann ich jetzt noch nichts sagen. Was mir aber beim Auspacken direkt ins Auge gefallen ist, sind die "fremden" Hundehaare. Ich habe knapp 62€ bezahlt für eine gebrauchte Weste? Wenn ich eine gebrauchte Weste haben wollte, hätte ich diese bei Kleinanzeigen gekauft für viel weniger! Vielleicht meldet sich der Verkäufer ja bei mir und gibt mir wenigstens einen kleinen Rabatt?Zu der Wirkung kann ich erst später was sagen und dann gibt es vielleicht auch noch einen Stern mehr. Und wenn der Verkäufer sich melden sollte dann auch evtl volle Sternen Anzahl.
